what is the size of your tank and what type of corals do u intend to keep ? if corals like sps then should have a skimmer that skims more. times the capacity of your tank. it would be good to get a bigger skimmer to accomodate heavier stocking (meaning if the skimmer is rated for say 850 L and your tank is 800 L then get a skimmer that is rated for more than 1200l)

1.you have to consider the size of the sump and cabinet whether it can fit the different skimmers, this may help you do a natural selection based on size differential. Note beckett skimmer you have to raise it above the water level to prevent back pressure.

2.price differential

should be beckett --> schuran --> HnS

3. the skimmers are all different systems

-beckett is a power driven skimmer, take up more power and cause more heat, but more efficient comparatively

-schuran jetskim is a venturi

-HnS is a needlewheel, low wattage. tried and tested since the beginning of the hobby. a good skimmer to invest in, but more ex

bro fongster sums it up pretty nicely ... just a word of caution to add is that alot of people don't really gv enough weight to the issue of power consumption. It may seem agreeable now but in the longer run, u may get nags frm yr wife or parents ... remember oil prices on way up n with that electrical tariffs
