My coral keep on dying after bought within 3 weeks.

Tested Po4, MG , Ca , No3 , NO2, etc etc.

Now i zoom into NO3 part first,

Using used Sera NO3, result between 5 to 10 mg/L

Someone said Salifert very good. I don't believe, the result should + - 5 to 10 the most. After a few mths , i decided to buy a try, damm expensive,

WOW, above 100 mg/L (100ppm)

Today result for NO3

Sera = still between 5 to 10 mg/L

Salifert = more than 100 Mg/L

:eek:

Does anyone know which brand gave more accuary?

Does anyone know any other brand gave better result?

Not neccessary fish will die. Some fish can survive. I feel that Salifert should be more reliable. You should try to do at least 40% water change. Maybe you can try to test both test kits using pre-mixed salt water and see e difference. Just my 2 cents.

Main Tank: 3 by 2 by 2.5 ft

Sump: 30 by 16 by 16 inch

Return: Sicce 5000

Wavemaker: Vortech Mp40wES

Lighting: 2 X Maxspect Mazzara, 1 ATI True Actinic, 1 ATI BluePlus

Skimmer: Deltec APF 600

CR: Deltec PF 501

Filtration: Carbon FR, Phosphate FR

Chiller: Hailea 300A

but the result is so BIG different...

One of them gave total wrong answer, but i not sure which one,

BUt for sure, i try big change of water. 25%, tomorrow 25% again, then hopefully friday NO3 drop, if not 25% again...

aiya, with the kind of discrptancy found, its very easy to verfiy....just get a new salt mix or buy a pack of NSW...then test....even with tap water, the reading should not exceed the 100mg range....

anyway, my personal experience with Salifert found the results to be quite inconsistance between batches and sometime even tests!

Agreed. API, is very good value for money. I've verified their dKH kits with Tropic Marin and found both to be even.

I've not tried their other test kits. Does anyone know where/who carries their full range of kits.

The new API : http://aquariumpharm.com/ with new logo and new kits.

& their kits : http://aquariumpharm.com/en_us/productCate...ryname=TestKits

Hopefully some sponsor will carry their product... :P:P (*hint only* ;) )
