Pics of my sps and 3 by 1.5 by 1.5 tank

Hi,

Managed to get a digi cam from friend lately. can take some shots of my tank. Feel free to give comment. parameters are as follows:

tank size: 3 feet by 1.5 feet by 1.5 feet

temp: 26-27.5

nitrate: 0

nitrite/ammonia: undetectable

Sg: 1.025

Ca: 440

dKH: 10.3

total flow rate in tank: about 6000l/h

filtration: skimmer rated at 200g, use of phosguard and activated carbon also

using plenuum

water changes: every fortnightly

lighting: suspended 13'' above water surface 250w 10000k DE MH (3pm-11pm)

supplemented by actinics from 2pm to 12am

additives: reef advantage, reef builder, kalkwasser(at night)

right side of my tank. reserved for buttons and such! the yellow polyps are spreading pretty well. when i first got it, they started to disappear one by one till i had 4 polyps left. now growing back to abt 12 polyps...the sinularia was propagated from a colony..that's why so skinny!!! keeps growing taller but not fatter. sad....

yah, i'm so glad i got a birdnest of good size during the last shipment..coz i was there only on monday and i was worried most of the good stuff would be sold by then!! oh, i just fragged a piece of the birdnest...i'll see how it goes..if it does well...can pass it to u!!!

i hope my birdnest retains its colours also man!!! i bought it for only abt a week and a half ago...heh. keeping my fingers crossed...but thanks for the positve feedback so far. i'm still learning also...

Hi jazzben81,

yup, i can't remember...i think either no. 2 or 3 sand...i think courser sand works better for plenuums....although fine sand would look more aesthitically more pleasant... i'm not too sure exactly the reason why courser sand works better but this marine biologist whom my friend has been liasing with recommended that...
