2ft set up

hi to all marine lovers,

im new to this hobby and just set it up last july this year.as u can see from my attachement I 've got a 2ft tank.what amused me was that there are this hairy green algae growing at the nozzle of the water outlet.pls need ur advise.my plate started to turn to skeleton.thanks

the fishes have been with me since I bought the tank...abt 3 mths already none died so far.

my yellow goby...its antenna was bitten by unknown creature.now wounded but waiting to go to heaven only waiting for time.Fyi ,I've got a stray crab in my rocks.

Welcome to SRC. Maybe you can highlight a little on your setup? What equipment you are using etc...

As for the green hair algae growing, maybe you can do some water test to see how is your water parameters. High Prosphate in water will promote nuisance algae growth like green hair algae. Try using proshpate remove media in your filtration system or FR to reduce the amount of prosphate in your water. (Rowaphos, Sorb 4 etc)

Plate corals are considered LPS, you should go into hard corals since you just started your setup. You have to monitor your KH, Ph, calcium level (especially impt for SPS/LPS & your clam too), NO3, PO4. These are the basic stuff you must monitor. Besides that, your plate and crocea are at the bottom of your tank, so you should be using t5 HO or MH right? If your are using T8s, then they cannot with stand for long. Check out your temp as well, if it shoots over 30, it maight cause corals to die off. If part of your plate is gone, it means some of the water parameter is not right.
