SRC Member koniyakutz Posted October 16, 2006 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 16, 2006 Hi guys, Thanks for the replies. Would Chengai be a much better wood over Kapur? Will have to top-up an additional $200 if I were to choose Chengai. Tank maker assured me Kapur is strong enough but I'm afraid the wood might rot, crumble or develope termites after a while as the sump is a damp enviroment. Thanks
SRC Member piero Posted October 16, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted October 16, 2006 I just ordered my 12mm 4 by 2 by 2 partition tank with 6mm sump and chengai wood. Paying $1300 including piping. SRC Member w3ish3ng Posted October 17, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted October 17, 2006 i would say go for geo aquatic or aquamarin afterall they are specialised in marine tank unlike those in arofanatics who is used to do fresh water tank. the design of the sump and so on will be much much different. I think they do marine tank too for tank makers like weeyang, david, gerrard. Like the one in mandarin hotel. think if the hotel can trust them with such a big project, we should be able to do so. Their prices are more competitive too.

Gerald, David, Weeyang are tank makers, therefore the price is definately much lower than wad lfs can offer. Every tank can be customised to every individual's needs. A lot of fellow reefers' tanks are in fact made by Gerald. . such as Deepblue, flubbrina etc. . . They provide very good pricing too. My 2ft sump at ubi was at 50 I think. But lost the contact of the shop.

And not to mention, his prices are very reasonable. Just in case you are wondering, he's using Chengai wood. Absolutely right. Many reefers here can vote for Gerald's honesty, patience and service. The only slight misunderstanding i had with Gerald was tt he took rather long to deliver my refugim tank. However, judging from the number of reefers who order tank from him these two months plus his fresh water clients, i can understand why. Anyway cheers dude. All the best.
