You can pick them at mangrove swamps but they prefer to stay above the waterline so they will venture out of your tank.

If you slime algae is cyanobacteria then very few animals will eat that stuff. Get to the root of the problem which is high bioload or inadequate nutrient export. Snails won't help at all.
