splitting star polyp

my star polyp is opening nice but i bought it attached on 2 pieces of rocks.

now its getting very hard to cling on 2 rocks and place it nicely. can i just cut between the 2 rocks and separate them?

Yes, you can do that. Star polyps belongs to the family of polyps. It's not a large coral so the rock is not something that will really affected the polyps. Just be prepared to lose a few polyps. It's very common to lose a few polyps becos after all our strength is too great for a fragile little piece of coral.

just made sure u do it properly.

I did cut up my pipe-organ into 4 pieces and throw them at four different locations in my tank.

cutted it up. just 2 snips. but 2 days already and it never open up. wonder if its ok.
