Sticky stuff is the slime produced by soft corals. When they are being shifted or some other factors like stress, they will produce it. By the term melt meaning your coral will shrink in size and gradually melt off. If it starts to melt due to bad water quality, lighting issues, water current issues or food issues, they will resuce in size day by day, and you can actually see them not open up as it use to be. Try not to dip corals in FW, it is harmful to them.
