Salt corrosion

Hi all, just wondering if you guys ever had this problem or putting a tank in your room and then after a few months, electricial stuff beginning to knock out?

I have a 3ft tank in my room and so far I have to change 2 motherboards and RAMS on my computer. Now, some parts of my computer seems to be knocking out again. Any idea if this is from the salt corrosion from my tank?

Interesting. Never had anything like this happen... there is faster than normal salt corrosion in the metal fixtures in the house but nothing so drastic as stuff shorting out.

Try reducing air bubbling in the tank aside from the skimmer.

Hi AT, I do not have any air stones in my tank.

Maybe it could be because my tank is an open concept?

I've experienced this. I have 2 cordless phones. The one that is near my tank died within months of deployment. The metal contacts for charging was completely rusted (not brown rust but greenish).

Electronic components are very fragile. ;)

I suggest you might want to get a contact cleaner to spray on all your electronic component and do it by weekly maintenance. May be this would help to prevent your electrical stuff to get weak contact and getting corroded. Just my 2 cents.

Hi, thanks for the advice.

Hi, thanks for the advice.

No problem bro....Oh ya! Try to keep all your electical stuff current on std by mode and not to leave it totally off after you had spray on e contact component

and also try to make it run twice a week inorder to regain back e power to the optimum level.... :peace:
