hi there guys,

just a side view shot of my little sps reef:

rightsideprofilexm7.jpg

i'm running 4x 39w

(1 x ATi Aquablue Spezial, 1 x korallen-Zucht Coral Light, & 2 x ATi Blue Plus)

cheers,

ian

Nice shot of your tank.

What should be the distance from the SPS location to the lighting?

So I am short of 1 tube.. :(

Now I am having 2 x ATI Blue Plus, 1 x Actinic .

Hi there bro uws,

thanks! though if you look closely, theres algae aplenty!!! hahahh. which i attribute to flow conditions, because despite my two return outlets randomized by hydor flos and two tunze nano 6055s in a 70L display tank, i still have dead spots, which i guess is to be expected in a crammed nano.. anyhows

i think the distance you keep your sps from your lights depends on the mix and number of tubes youre running. the more tubes you have, the deeper you can place your sps. my tank's height is just 1.2 ft though, so not very high at all, which is why im able to keep my sps even at the bottom.

are you running just the 2 x ATi Blue Plus and 1 x Actinic? or is your main lighting an MH with T5s as supplement? because white light is far more crucial to growth and long term health than the blue or more violet spectrumed tubes. id certainly recommend the ATi Aquablue Spezial.

cheers,

ian

I guess it depend of wat kind of acros family that you intend to play with ya? Coz you need to be more careful and do more read up on choosing frag dat can adapt to ur T5 lighting.....Especially, Frag like millipora which I find dat it need strong lighting inorder to get it colour up.....Other than dat.....Prepare to burn ur pocket more on e husbandry and also require to maintain ur tank water in a tip top condition everyweek without fail.... but if you fail to do so.....If you are lucky enough they'll turn brown instead or else you'll see them stn within 2 hrs ya ....Happy trying and happy reefing dude!! ;)
