SRC Member Ah-lim Posted April 3, 2008 SRC Member Share Posted April 3, 2008 Hi guys, I needed to upgrade my return pump. Was thinking of either ehiem 1262 or ocean runner 3500. My tank is 3ft x 1.5 x 2.5 ft high. Any suggestions? Ehiem higher heat output? Thanks in advance.
SRC Member vt_snowman87 Posted April 3, 2008 SRC Member Share Posted April 3, 2008 i'm using a eheim 1262, one bad thing is, it's 80W, contributes abt 10+ dollars to ur monthly bills.. but good thing is it can be used out of water.. and it is very powerful and reliable.. SRC Member vt_snowman87 Posted April 3, 2008 SRC Member Share Posted April 3, 2008 oh ya, i use this graph to calculate my head loss and the flow rate when it hits my tank.. so u can use this to get an accurate turnover rate for ur tank.. http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewItem~idP...1262~tab~1.html aquabee's one is here, though very power saving, it has larger gradient of head losses.. http://www.aquabee-aquarientechnik.de/page...&show_id=11 and here's rio's ones.. http://www.riopump.net/products_pumps/hyperflow_models.html cheers.. SRC Member Ah-lim Posted April 3, 2008 Author SRC Member Share Posted April 3, 2008 Thanks for the quick reply ! I'm currently using ehiem 1060, so thinking of upgrade. Since I'm not using a chiller, heat output is a concern. The OR seems to consume lesser watt, thus need some info to those who are using ocean runner. Cool aquabee info, thanks alot !
