clam on the side

Just got this small clam, prob crocea. Tried to put it high up on the live rocks near the compact fluorescent lights, but it keeps falling. Placing in sand will be too dim, I think. Decided to place it in a scallop shell, with some sand inside, and balanced it between 2 rocks near the lights. However, it flipped to the side instead...should I keep easing it back to the proper position facing the lights? The mantle is rather thin...not sure whether it is healthy or not.

Anyone can advise? Thanks.

Facing the light is better for full mantle expansion. It will look great too if it has full mantle expansion :peace: .Hmm let it stay there till the byssal threads are formed.
