Wow so strange to see my ex-office centrepiece in someone else's home lol. You need more rocks, and also why not dose purple up intensively to increase your coraline algae while it is still cycling?

haha...you must be missing yr office tank ya....i intend to place more corals on the sand bed...there are rocks in my sump for biological filteration....too many rocks later a lot of dirt accumulate on the back and corners...so i changed my mind and decide to go for less rocks...and less sticking of corals on the rocks...haha....

yes sir!....i have been dosing calcium, magnesium, strontium and trace elements....next week will be stocking more on these items....

Siang, seems like you have a lot of flat rocks.

probably can hunt for more shapey ones with nice arcs to break the dimension a little.

Eqpt: Deltec MCE 600, Tunze 6055 with Tunze 7091 controller, Artica 1/15 HP chiller, AquaIllumination Sol Blue LED Light System

2011 resolution : Do it simpler, better and in an easier way!

Be careful of artificial rocks...they will cause stagnant water to collect inside them and may cause problems with high nitrates in your tank later.

I thought biohommes can replace the function of bateria colonization of live rocks but I was wrong.

Till today, the effect of my biohommes is largely neglible.

Hence, live rocks will be a better bet than articficial rocks

Some live rocks has pretty nice shape.

just got to look harder. I have seen some nice ones at AM before.

The CF ones are really good.

Also try to choose rocks with similar texture so tht when you stack them, it will look rather see seamless.

i did saw some nice ones at AM...but not sure whether to add on to my existing rocks...coz if i plant those zoas, yumas and LPS, they come with rocks attached....

maybe i check out GO this week, coz have to collect a bottle of turtle up from binosage...then see if got any zoas on special price....

For cheap and nice liverocks, I go to T95.. Quite reasonable and the coraline encrusted rocks have quite unique shapes. Down side to this? A lot of hitchhiker/pests! hahaha...

Anyway Jacky, how long you used the biohome for before concluding that? For best results keep it in a dark place to let the denitrifying bacteria grow and colonise.
