Hi all,

I'm using seasoned liverocks with newly mixed salt water. The problem is. Do i have to recycle the tank? I'm asking this because the seasoned liverocks will do it's job by breaking down any ammonia present? Resulting no ammonia spike? Or anyone know what will really happens as per topic?

Just let your water and rocks run for 24hrs w/o anything inside the tank,

Afterwhich u may put in the LR and let it cycle before u put any livestock into the tank.

Yup the theory is there, but its better to be safe than sorry...

Since u have already place the prawn in, ammonia will surely kick in / in fact already kick in, y dun u let it cycle like a new tank then, cured rocks oso need time to filter the sudden surge of ammonia =)
