Guest
Maybe you can check your water paremeter, and you might have to do routinue cleaning of your Canister Filter ,if not all the dirt inside will create a Diatom bomb to your system especially your filter foss inside.. SRC Member jyoon Posted September 8, 2009 SRC Member Share Posted September 8, 2009 Hi Bro I ever used a canister before for my marine tank. What I did was to place a pre-filter canister (connected in series with the eheim canister) that only consist of cotton wool. Thus all the dirt will be prefiltered before going into the Bio portion of my eheim. This way, you will only need to clear your pre-filter frequent and your BIO canister can last a longer period before maintenance. Will post a pic of my pre-filter canister later. Hope this help. SRC Member pokmingsheng Posted September 8, 2009 Author SRC Member Share Posted September 8, 2009 bro can check what you putting inside your canister? I'm also using canister too. Clean it every week. Agree that cleaning canister quite tiring... there are 3 compartments in my filter... after the water flows thru the inlet pipe, it'll first enter the first compartment that only contain wool... i placed 2 different kinds of wool... one is the normal white ones, another is the "black" and "rougher" one... second stage, those porus carbon rings... duno the brand name... third stage, some orange and white filter media.. forgot the name as well =/ there's part ONE and part TWO... denitrate beads all over the place, rowa phos..... i think thats about it.... haha.... it'll be good if someone can help me I/D my media based on my mini-description.. those orange and white ones, according to the uncle in LFS when i first started out, he told me its really good =/ Quote My Decomissioned 2ft Cube: (31st March 2011) Carpe Diem~!!!
