Diatoms problem...

The diatoms went away for awhile abt 1-2 mths and are back agn... I really hav no idea of how to stop them other than adding an FR... Other than tht is thr other cost effective ways?? <_<

1ft cube with IOS [the low tech tank]

1. JBJ C-breeze to keep temp hovering around 27-28'C

2. LED clip on - 120 bulbs

Tank parameters:

Temperature maintained at 25.3'C to 24.7'C

No3: 10ppm(b4 the use of the deltec skimmer)

No3: 5ppm (after use of the skimmer)

Others? too lazy to measure...LOL

try circulate the lower half of ur tank using a normal pump with its nozzel pointing downwards (pump hang from top of tank)

use wavemaker lor you need I have spare wavemakers :upsidedown:

Currently already hav 2 wavemakers in a 34 gal tank :blink: But still hav diatoms

I seldom feed and only feed when i like it... But when i feed i'll feed alot... :unsure:

Just let it run its course. Diatoms should die off if your nutrients are under control.
