nqh71
Hi Guys, I just placed my 150w MH for my 2.5 ft tank. It is about 4-5 inches above the water level. 1) Is it ok? 2) WIll my corals at the top (very near the top water level) be ok? Thanx. SRC Member SharkBait Posted December 17, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 17, 2003 Im more worried about your bulb exploding from sudden contact with tank water..i think your bulb is placed too low.
SRC Member chrislwp Posted December 17, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 17, 2003 Did you monitor the temperature surge when the MH is on? Quote Tank 4x2x2.
nqh71
Did you monitor the temperature surge when the MH is on? I got a chiller running at 26 degress... Will my newly acquired bubble be affected cause I put it up high up near the top...

FuEl
No need to place bubble so high up..you can place it right on the bottom with no problems at all. Sudden increase in light can lead to it bleaching. SRC Member untouchables Posted December 17, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 17, 2003 If without chiller... can i place it so low... i thot the general rule is if mh then need chiller cos fan will not be sufficient unless you use a big big ventilator fan but i think daily water loss >10%
