Hailea and Resun chillers

Depending on new or old. If u compare both new, resun is louder

As chiller get older, noise level will increase slighty, anyhow after a while u also don't hear it unless u put it in your bed room

Current Tank(s) :

2 x 1 x 1 mixed reef tank

What in my mind now (future tanks)

4 x 2.5 x 1.5 low profile coral tank

3 x 2.5 x 1.5 low profile reef tank

Decommissioned Tanks :

2 ft seahorse tank back in the 1990s'

2.5 ft cube mixed reef tank in 2007 to 2008

JBJ 28g Tank . Maxspect G1 110W + 12W DIY LED . Tunze 9002 Skimmer . Vortech MP10w ES . SPS only Tank . Picasso Clown Fish (2009 to 2011)

Elect bill is based on usage, so you have to measure how often the chiller kicks in to cool down your tank. An idling chiller uses a tiny bit of electricity to keep the sensor and LEDs running, that you can drop off from the calculation.

FOWLR Tank : 48"x24"x30"

Sump: 36"x18"x20"

Return Pump : Rio 32HF

Skimmer: Reef Octopus DNW-110

Lighting: 150W MH

I have a cl-650 and it's just a slight hum that I don't notice unless I'm within a small radius, don't think it differs much.

FOWLR Tank : 48"x24"x30"

Sump: 36"x18"x20"

Return Pump : Rio 32HF

Skimmer: Reef Octopus DNW-110

Lighting: 150W MH

I am using hailei 300 on my 28g, oversize chiller, running on 110W LED, monthly bill for reefing is less than S$15

Sorry again... i can accept my hailea 1/10 noise... and i quite worry about the resun 450 noise... anyone running a resun 450? Can you advise?

I compare my hailea 1\10 with CL650 which i own last few yrs back,CL650 more noisy.But not sure new patch of resun chiller got same problem or not.Anyway last time my new Cl650 always kick in every 15min :shock: .Worry my hailea encourter same problem so I standby a external controller brought from another reefer.
