Hi, I have use a 150w MH for my 3ft tank, temp. will raise but my 3 x 5 inch AC help to bring down the temp. by 4-5 degrees. (31--->26) Evaporation rate is rather high at 4L/day. PM me if you wan to get my type of fan. Below is a pic of my setup.

I have almost the same tank as you except height is 2.5ft......so far no sign of fishes or corals shortage of oxygen, I have a overflow, return and rotating PH to help circulate the water though, I think the stirring of the water on the surface should have sufficent interaction with the air to bring oxygen to the tank. If you want to be sure, just position your return header half in water and half in air, but will have lots of small bubbles in the tank which is quite annoying. James

Rubber hose can take up to super high pressure, plus the fact that your return pipe if open through there's hardly any back pressure so not possible for rubber hose to burst. James

Have been using my E-heim 1260 since start up 1 week ago. Using just 26mm hoses for suction and 16mm hoses for discharge to PVC return piping before the ball valve. Have tested for power failure, so far no issue of overflowing the sump. Key is the length of your return pvc in the overflow compartment, it should be just nice at the level of the overflow so if the pump fails, the siphon will break almost immediately, only the water inside the pvc pipe will flow down to the sump. The external useage help me cut down 2 degrees. E-heim is damn hot. Below is a pic. Just ordered a external suction head for my sicce extrema, will convert my skimmer pump to external to farther help cut down on the temperture.

Hi moderators, I would like to suggest in putting a Corals and fishes identification pages for newbies like me to identify different types of corals and fishes, their compatibilities and feeding food & habits. Maybe a group of the more lao jiaos can form a team to help identify corals photograghs that are send in by members then selecting the best similar coral and input them inside the thread. So at any one time there will only be one type of coral for each diffenent colours. Eg. Under Anemone topic, you can search and find each thread showing each kinda anemone - Yellow bubble tip anemone, bulb anemone.....etc & under buttons corals - green buttons, blue, red buttons....etc ....Same goes for fishes :-) Regards, James

Hi guys, need your advise........I have the below anemone for abt 5days, it seems to have some green stuffs inside its body and once a while it will start discharging these green "pills" stuffs through its mouth. Any idea what is it? Any toxic or is it an indication that my anemone is dying?

Currently I'm using 3 x 5" AC fans blowing at MH and top of tank, although it does bring down my temp. by 3 degrees but is quite unsightly thus that inspire me to improve it on the sump which will be kept out of sight. I'm in the progress of designing the sump right now, which operate base on the cooling tower concept. If successful, it should be able to bring down the tank temp. by 2-4 degrees. That will save me from getting a chiller. Will keep you updated. A pic of the ugly sight.....

You can open up the bottom of ur eden to check the gear if it stop rotating, something must have stuck in between the gears. Test!

The eden ph is just 5" x 2" x 3" , put in the corner with the black oyama sticker at the back of tank is almost unseen.
