  3. And actually, you just have to test for nitrite. That works for me anyways. Once the nitrite has spiked and reached zero, the cycle is over. As when the nitrite reaches zero, the ammonia is also zero as well. But initially there would be no nitrite as the ammonia is till converting to nitrite. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

  5. Red light is of very little use for most coral. Unless you are keeping corals collected near the surface of the sea. Violet and ultraviolet is the portion of light that really penetrate deep into the sea. They do contribute to the photosynthesis of most coral but not as much as the blue,deep blue and royal blue. But they contribute much to the highlighting of most coral flourescent.
