  1. Bro, the Toyogo box you borrowed will do. Just clean with normal dish detergent, then rinse properly. It should hold your LR, corals, & H20 temporarily while you swap off the old tank. Just prepare more newspapers on the floors & extra cloths for spills. Have fun.
  2. BTW, below is a calculator to serve as a guideline for fish size & number of fishes you can keep for tank size. This would help in your planning for the types of fish & number of fishes you'd like to have. http://www.howmanyfish.com/#page=page-1
  3. Most likely the one from your return pump.
  4. Bro, I notice your display tank nozzle will be pretty deep under water. (Pls. correct me if I'm wrong.) You need to take extra precaution to prevent backflow into your sump during power outage.

  6. Looks good, but prepare for bigger tank as your tangs grow.
  7. You can consider making the top shelf movable. This would make it much easier when you do rock scaping, and regular tank maintenance.
  8. I've a jerry can without cap. FOC caused I've decommed & not using it. You can contact me at 9852787seven to arrange for collection.
  9. "Clownfish and sea anemones have a symbiotic, mutualistic relationship, each providing a number of benefits to the other.....The sea anemone protects the clownfish from predators, as well as providing food through the scraps left from the anemone's meals and occasional dead anemone tentacles. In return, the clownfish defends the anemone from its predators, and parasites." From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphiprioninae
  10. You can try to trap it in a glass bottle on the sand bed overnight. Just need to ensure the mouth of the bottle is big enough to let the crab through.
  11. Can order from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/AquaClear-70-Power-Filter-Includes/dp/B000260FUW/ref=lp_2975469011_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1378188162&sr=1-16
  12. A marine tank comes with it an implicit commitment for one's time & effort. At least half hour a day for feeding & checking, plus more once a week for weekly maintenance husbandry. Hope i'm not scarring u off. But it's something u need to know before u start investing $$ into this addictive hobby.
  13. Thanks for the explanation. Pls. show us a clip on how you harvest if possible.
  14. Bro, I can't tell from your pic if your tank is resting on something soft. I have a spare piece of Styrofoam you can use to minimize stress on the bottom glass. PM me if you like to pick it up.
  15. Looks like the skimmer pump is too powderful leh. Is it the original pump for the skimmer?
  16. Are coral chips, Biohomme, etc still popular nowadays? I thought most bros have replaced them with FR as those medias tend to accumulate detritus over time & end up becoming a nitrate factory. I don't see any problem having both sock & skimmer in the 1st compartment if its water level is consistent, except that I'll probably have the water flow under the 1st baffle instead of over to eliminate any micro-bubbles.
  17. hi LittleReef, Hope following can answer some of your questions. 1/3 means 1/3 horsepower. Below is link to a brand. http://www.jbjlighting.com/prod-arctica-aquarium.html BTW, your softies might be able to survive on fan if water temp can stay below 29C. I see no harm trying. Running cost is definitely lower than having a chiller. Just cater for a chiller in your tank design for future upgrade if necessary. Max head is the maximum height a particular pump can 'push' water upwards vertically. Example: If your display tank height is 2 ft & cabinet is 3 ft. Then the return pump sitting at the base of your cabinet in the sump needs to have a max head of more than 5 ft to delivery water up to your display tank. Below is a head max chart for Jebao pumps. Taking the example of model 5000 pump(light blue line), At 5 ft(i.e. about 1.5 meters), it will still give you a flow rate of about 3700L/hr. Let's say overall water volume is about 340L, 10X circulation rate per hour looks just about right. You can do similar calculation with other type of pumps. Remember to use as large a piping size as possible & minimize bends in them to maximize flow rate from your pump. Bubble Magus internal skimmer is a good choice if you have limited budget. BM product page: http://www.bubble-magus.com/en/product.asp You can add Phosphate reactor if you need it later. It's not a must have from day one. Just cater space in your sump design for it. SPS stands for Small Polyped Stony. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/aquarium-fish-supplies.cfm?c=597+322 One important consideration when designing sump is to cater for extra water volume when you have a power outage in your home. Otherwise, it's going to be a messy flood. All the best, & enjoy this journey.
  18. (1) Try to have a durso pipe for your overflow to reduce noise. (2) The gap on your filter comb looks very small, this may cause water level to raise beyond what you'll expect in your display tank. Replace them if need be.
