Yes agree with bro sunnymau colour is the better indicator. In my experience having poly extension does affect the colour of the SPS, when I have my flame angel pair constantly niping my sps, the poly extension is minisium but the body of the SPS is full colour. After I remove the angel pair, poly extension is very good, but the body of the SPS is not so nicely coloured. For this I suspect might the poly extension is blocking the light from the SPS body and hence reduce in colouration.

Grotech ABC are elements that corals need, so in general they should be helpful for Lps, softies and sps. Why people always only talk about sps is because for sps, colour lost is very common and people are looking for ways to improve the colour or maintain it. For Lps I think most important is the gene, if the Lps is not nice in the first place, it is not going to be nice after a period of time, this is from my limited experience with Lps. Hence it is important to buy the luminous and nicest Lps instead of just buy a normal one and hope that it will become a gem.

Hmmm I think u can continue to use the bio pellet and use polylab plus and acid. Once u finished the bio pellet then u can start to use fuel and genesis. Bio pellet and fuel and genesis should serve the same purpose but fuel and genesis will have more control.

Did u turn on the tap till full or only turn on slightly and agree the DI unit to dip drop by drop? For 1 stage, u will have to turn on the tap slightly and the flow rate of the tap must be so slow that the outlet of the DI unit is drop by drop in order to get TDS 0.

Yup what jquek said is very true. Polylab is a pro system so recommended dosing instructions can serve as a good guideline so since every tank is different, one will have to observe the coral and tune the dosing slightly to suit the parameter of individual tank.

I will say now a lot of reefer is keeping sps in ultra low nutrient system(ulns) hence the system has 0 po4 and No3, and the water is strip off of almost everything so water change and dosing of A,B and C will replace the element in the system and hence enhance the colour of the SPS. If the tank is normal system then the effect of A, B and C might not be so obvious.

Yes what solo77 said is very true, for reefing, there is always a reason why so many reefer are doing the same thing. They are the basic husbandry for reefing. There are always a few odd one out there which want to challenge the norm and try to be different, most of the time result is not good and they don't post thing like I tried this and I crash my tank because they will be flame by the rest, so they keep quiet but it doesn't mean nothing happed. Hence if you are serious about this hobby, follow the basic husbandry and you will enjoy the hobby more in the long run. Cheer.

Yes, it will make a lot of different, if you are a coral person then the slight top up is very worth because the colour of the coral will be very different when view with a normal glass and a crystal and a starfire glass. Normal glass will have a tinse of green and coral will not very nice, if only keeping fishes then not much diff.
