  1. Hi Guys I have the above for sale for $90.00 Lightset is less than 3 years. Bulbs changed last year. SMS 9825 9679, Thanks.
  2. Hi James I don't think I want to leave a beautiful fish like mandarin in the refugium. Thanks for the advice though. Ok I will still harvest my chaetos and hopefully with all water parameters remain stable my copepods will breed even more. Thanks for your advice too Comycus.
  3. Hi Guys. I have a small but delightful headache here. My chaeto refugium is full of copepods. I can see them swimming, some hanging by the chaetos and many more on the glass. In fact they are everywhere. My chaetos are growing fast and I need to harvest them but worry I would kill the pods population. Can anyone advice me on this? Many thanks in advance.
  4. So far only one nice reefer collected the chaeto. SMS me if you want some. I really have a lot to give. A waste if I just throw them away. SMS 98259679
  5. Hi Guys time to harvest my cheatos Giving away to anyone willing to trade with a big bottle of ice lemon tea. I have quite a lot to give away. Maybe to more than 10 people. If you can collect this weekend maybe you'll get more than usual cos I wanna clear them fast. Collection will be at Admiralty MRT anytime Sat or Sun. SMS 98259679.
  6. You r right rush act. But I want the DSB for aesthetic reason. Also if I'm not wrong DSB also good for nitrogen cycle. Last time my sand on my DT were not deep enough. I just wanna gather experience from those people who have DSB on their DT. Of course my decision will be based on what I gather from the bros out there. Thanks again.
  7. Thanks Wei. Anyone else have DSB on their DT?
  8. Hi Weisiang tx for the response. So your DT is also bare? I had miracle mud in my sump full of chaetos for two years. Was great lots of pods but could not maintain it cos it's ex to replace yearly. Btw so you recommend I have DSB in my sump instead?
  9. Anyone had success in keeping reef tank with DSB?
  10. My no3 and po4 are under control at this time. NO3 ranging from 1 to 5 during normal days. PO4 I don't really test cos not much problem with algae and red slime. I shd say yes they are enough with my current bare bottom tank. My question would be would I need extra careful husbandry cos right now I do 5% wc every week. Btw I also have poly filter placed in my sump.. Thanks tunicates for the response.
  11. Hi GUys, I always envy those DT with deep sand bed. They really look cool. I tried before during my first few years of reef keeping but it only look good in the beginning. But when my nitrates started to increase, it created lots of problem. Right now I am thinking of going back to DSB with at least 6 inch of deep sand. Will it work? FYI I'm keeping LPS and soft corals. I do have 4 huge live rocks in my 4 ft tank. My fishes are Bartlett, Carberyi, blue eye anthiass; some fairy wrasses, blue, yellow and purple Tangshan and true perc clown. In my sump I have a healthy, fast growing cheato, H&S protein skimmer and two FRs running with bio pellets. Can some of you guys give me good advise on this? All tips are are welcome.
  12. Bro I guess you have over stocked your tank too soon. 20 livestocks for a for 4ft will definitely have NO3 problem cos the feeding demand is too high. At the same time you need to keep your tank nitrate free. At this time it's not easy if you wanna consider long term solution like bio pellet and algae scrubber. Sooner rather than later your fishes will perish. I suggest you try the bio filter from sea life and AZNO3. Please follow the instructions on using the AZNO3 carefully. Good luck again.
  13. Bro if u want fast but temporary result u can try buying 3 bio filter from sea life. Put all 3 in your sump n your NO3 will reduce significantly. After that u can consider all the recomendtions by the senior reefers above. Good luck.
  14. Well bro u see your mum is more experience than you! Just kidding man. Sorry for calling u a newbie. Anyway she was right. U risk getting a cracked 2nd hand tank. Well done, good decision. I think the best way to convince your dad is by having a well maintained tank. Do not rush to buy new stocks n let your tank cycle completely n do not overstock too soon. If u managed a beautiful tank maybe your dad might get hooked too and can even sponsor u more. Haha.
  15. Don worry about irritating us if you r genuinely honest, patient and willing to listen to advice. We welcome potential newbies like u anytime. Just don ruin your own reputation cos by one look at people's thread we can easily tell from a genuine newbie to a con artist.
  16. He just posted a new thread looking to buy or foc live rocks!
  17. Since you know itts been difficult, then maybe you shd be looking at buyIng one instead of foc. Just wondering what else u be looking for foc.
  18. Hi Bro u sms me about it. Sorry never reply. U can find small bottles at Aquastar Yishun.
  19. Agreed. Maybe your purple queen is on its own and too afraid to swim in the open. Do u have other aggressive fishes in your tank? Fishes anthias especially will hide if they are sick or scared.
  20. When was the last time you see the fish? If more than 3 days that means they are dead, eaten by small crabs or died while hiding behind rocks. One way is to look for slimy particles waving behind rocks. If you found the slime, it is most likely your dead purple queen anthias.
  21. Anyone wants some chaeto? As a small token for a big bottle of ice tea. Collection at Admiralty Mrt Sms 98259679. Thx
  22. If u thinking of having only one type of anthias then bartlett is the easiest and beautiful to have. But if u think of having more than one type then bartlett u may want to add it last.
  23. I agree with sunny abt giving the bartlett more time. Mine take abt more than six month to get that intense colour.Feed them more pellet food.
