I just got a overflow from Mr Reefer Guy.....and am designing a sump tank now.....and been surfing SRC for some research and has been confusing the hxll out of me!! example: DSB, refugium, flow rate, types of configuration of the sump, coral chips, fliters, bio balls...blar blar blar...... Currently already using a canister for my 2 footer but the surface is like oil leak!!! and still couldnt get the parameter (Ammonia and nitrate) to perfect after 3 month!!! Appreciate anybody's advise! By the way, Achilles, a couple of the old thread have the pic taken off....hmmm....so dont know how to figure out from the thread

just something to share.....my anemone pass away last night...its white in color with blue tip.....a beauty but..... I wonder does anemone fights with each other?? I got fustrated trying to keep both my anemone (the other one is Haitian) away from each other and let nature take its course but.... Even since I bought these anemone, they dont seem to open up or bloated up as beautiful as it is initially. Does anemone take Marine Snow as supplement instead of dried prawn? I only witness for one time it consume the whole dried prawn and from then onwards, it refuse to eat any.....worried....It been probably 2 month for my Haitian..my white anemone probably only 6 weeks.....sign!! Any advise Bwilly? or anybody?

Are tang fish suitable for a 2 ft tank? I have a 2ft X 1.5ft h X 1 tank. Really like blue tang and have been looking around some LFS but most of them say no shipment coming from Bali & Malaysia due to Hari Raya! probably late next week.

no matter how close u place it to the tubes. 2fls are definitely insufficient. upgrade your lights. or your clam will wither away. what species is it? Dont think u cooked your clam. Think it died of other unnatural conditions. An articles someone told me was outdated some time back recommends clams to be kept at 5-6kk lighting. so dont know how true. guess 6500k would be ideal. 10kk shld be ok. 20kk a bit too high. unless its 400watt MH. which i kept my ultra max in for a few months healthily in .. until one day i forgot to turn on the chiller. but i dont want to talk about it

Hi you guys never talk about the temp??? I bought a clam previously and it die 2 days later. $30 for it %$#%$#^% Temp was about 30degree!!! It was actually place at the top of my LR!! so should be ample light even though I use 2 FL light 1 actinic white & 1 blue. Therefore I suspect I cook the clam.... Currently I am using a DIY fan modified from a car fan.....and its around 27.5 - 28 but this few days can reach 26degree probably of the raining days. Any advise?

dont worry, my 2 anemone ( Haitian & White with blue tip) also same same. Sometime it strink into a 50 cents coin. Initial the tip is so fat and now.... dont know if I have not feed them enough? But still surviving pretty ok....problem only it move all about....and my dont have the luxury of of a clown fish to keep company because I have too many fishes already for my 2 feet tank.... Total got 5 fishes already...sign!

Correct me if I am wrong, I thought dkh & pH are proportionally increase with each other !?? Unless I was mis lead!! I was actually looking for a test kit to measure pH but this guy from S*a Lif* told me to buy dkh and he even write me a table to determine pH when dkh is measure!!! 6 dkh : 8 pH 8 : 8.1 10 : 8.2 12 : 8.3 14 : 8.4 Is this true!! Looks like you guys measure them separately! Appreciate your guys advice!

Hi I bought some green grapes a couple of weeks ago and now it is over growing like nobody business.... It grow like a money plant and it climbing all over the other corals I have. I was wondering can I trim them like plants??

Sera, bought from Pet Mart and its the one and only they carry hi yazid, my tank is coming close to 3 month and my kh is pretty stable at around 8.2-8.3.....honestly I havent even use the KW which I bought and only recently I thought about the calcium level in my tank. I will try to measure the calcuim and Kh level again this evening. Thanks for your advise.

Hi all I have a 2 ft marine tank and have introduce quite a no. of corals and was told I have to maintain a proper calcium level in order for the corals to grow properly. Bought KW & Calcium tester. Tested the water last night and surprised to find its is so high!!! 540!!! instead of the receommend 400-420! Is it alright???? Could it because of the rusty water tank....I live in a HDB?? If not what should I do??? Apparantly now I am using the Marine Snow daily for the corals supplement. Is that enough? Any advise? Best Regards
