Try to look also for predators on your tank... also anyone bullying your SC.

Try squeezing the shrimp first so that the "shrimp juice" will be on your water column.... this will surely lure your SC to open up and then you can finally feed them meaty foods etc..

yeah, but using it might help re-establish the new tank faster than doing the full cycling steps again.

May I ask why you don't want to use your current water for your new tank ?
