  1. lotsa nice sun corals at ML... altho disappearing fast...
  2. shop at ginza have lots of nice durians... not familiar with durians but i thought what i saw was nice, yellow and green... also some jewels.... they also haf a few sets of 'hand cought' pairs of clowns with host anemones.... one set of oscillaries reserved while another set still available... another set of tomatoes with a huge anemone also still available...
  3. great to hear that such a simple contraction is so greatly successful.. wonder if it has been succesful in nailing mantis shrimps... i think i haf quite a number of those in my tank... clicking away all the time...
  4. waited very long for mine already...
  5. most prob current or overcrowding la... depending on type.. some of them never seem to die(well almost)... haha
  6. i guess last time they open up to grab more light but now they dun need that much anymore... gif them time to adjust i guess... were they stretching last time with the old lights?
  7. really now that is very conflicting... cos some say they wipe out entire colonies... and there are definitely more than 6 in my tank... i think i killed nearly 20+ liao... for now there is peace again.. but dunno for how long
  8. pretty sure they are nudis... not the colourful types that ppl keep as pets... more the pests type... sorry dun haf my own pics.. but they look like this.. and not to mention come in various sizes and color variations...
  9. i love zoos... have 5 different types in my tank now... but i hate nudibranch... at first i juz patiently pick them off with tweezers ... but then more began to appear.. and whole rocks had to be taken out to haf nudis picked off them i realised the nudis are here to stay... after reading reef-life's webpage i followed his technique of dipping the zoos in tap water... solved the problem for a while... and got rid lof lotsa tiny mantis shrimps and worms in the process... and yet the nudis come back... today is the third time i've been dipping the zoos in tap water... feel sorry for my zoos... is there a way to get rid of them once and for all?
  10. no 1 balestier street or something like that... its at the intersection of lavender and balestier... cannot miss one the sign so big... or if u take mrt drop at boonkeng walk towards the nursing home towards the 4-way intersection oso wont miss one..
  11. haha... i haf yumas, discosomas, star polyps and buttons floating all over my tank... when they overcrowd a rock, yumas tend to detach from that rock and fall off... when that happens they will form sort of a base on their own(my guess is by secreting mucus)... also a few polyps now existing on their own when i used hammer and chisel to whack the main rock in half and the loose ones just detach and survive on their own... i haf polyps of discosomas being placed all over the tank as they simply float off the main colony when at one time the current was too strong... as for the buttons.. well... one particular colony i got from reb*rn wasn't really attached to a solid rock.. the colony is in fact holding pieces of rocks together... that is one reasons why they detach after a while... single polyps have also been 'fragged' by the pistol shrimp... so all these loose polyps juz float around and settle where the current isn't strong and ....(seems like they are starting a few colonies in the tank) but i do find a few particularly huge polyps of mushrooms... the hairy types... they start to disintegrate after attaining their maximum size for sometime... makes me wonder if the juz age and die...? anyone noes?
  12. i'm no expert.. but i think mg/L = ppm.. and from the looks of it ur water parameters are quite ok... altho ideal is all 0's... u might wanna read up all the pinned messages in the newbie section...
  13. no need to break in!!! it's on the blardy balcony... juz need to climb to the 15th floor..
  14. yumas haf pimply mouths... means their short tentacles surround even the mouth part.. floridas haf smooth mouths... means the area around the mouth is totally smooth... haha... when i first started i oso wanted to find out the answer to this... at least today i can tell u... but too bad i dun haf pics to show as i haven't gotten any florida yet... so expensive!!!
