  2. me too interested in the corals.... got cheaper if take more pieces or not???
  3. kekkeke....its very version of "li jia chu zou" (leaving home) eh so as to receive more attention???
  4. think most packaging, if not all, will have the indication how much salt is required for the required volume..
  5. use a hydrometer la.... it's easier... i have used reef crystal and it's about 2kg for 2ft/60liters...
  6. more food found there in your overflow???? or hiding from its predators???
  7. during cycling you need not on the lights or the fan as there is no livestocks, hence the evaporation rate is not so high as compared as tanks with habitants.... you may like to observe the evaporation rate and top up declorinated tap water to stabilize the salinity of the tank water.... as the water evaporates, the salt gets left behind hence resulting in higher salinity reading... once your readings are suitable and best allow it to stabilize for at least 3 days den add livestocks slowly.... preferrably with invertebrates such as snails or shrimps, your preference, first before you add fish as they have lower bioload, hence allowing the bacteria to multiply fast enough to handle the bioload.... rem, small quantity at a time.... perhaps 1 or 2... den measure your water parameters again.. once the nitrite and amonia drops to 0 and remain that way for about 3 days den you add more livestocks.... never overstock your tank and stocking to fast also may cause the tank to "crash"... in the beginning stage, you may need to chagne 10-20% of water every week and this is to help to replenish fresh water for the fish to drink as well as to dilute the nitrite level as a result of ammnonia breakdown. once your tank is up and going for about 1 month or 2, you may change it biweekly.... however, if any of your livestocks die and nitrite level shoot sky high within short period you may wish to change up to 20% of your water so as to dilute the water further...
  8. hahahah...... at least got someone tried ma...
  9. hahaha...unclassified cause of death. find the murderer!!!!!!!
  10. cks and danano are nano tanks ah???? looks bigg bigg lei.....!!!! colourful sia... me too wanna make it as colourful as possible..... but there is still a distance away!!!!
  11. wat's more important is that if we can put the small fridges we have at home to a good use without forking out more money to purchase a new or second hand chiller, den it's worth it mah!!!!!!
  12. sorry for the incomplete post!!! was wondering IS 4HOURS TOO LONG A TIME AS A TRANSITION TIME? since we do not know if the lfs tank water is high in ammonia or not we are at a risk when we buy and take so long to reach home, not to mention about the accimilation time (for newly aquired fishes)....
  13. pay secondary technical students to do it for u
  14. length, size, colour, special features.... kekekek... BEST TO MAKE A SCRAPEBOOK FOR YOUR TANK!!! ..perhaps u would like to take a pic once it's in your tank..... if it really die den can become a "yi zhao" for it...
  15. many hobbyists would advise you put in the liverocks as you begin to cycle your tank as this would shorten the total amount of time need for the cycling... if you decide to put in the LR only AFTER cycling, den the tank would enter into another cycle when the rocks r introduced... rem: whenever something new is added to the tank (LR, fish, etc) the tank enters into a cycle. however, the first cycle takes the longest time, ranging from 3-8 weeks... depending on the combination of everything that is available and used for your tank. heard that airstone is not necessary if you have a filter as airstone do not create an environment natural enough... people usually use powerheads to increase the water circulation, if necessary. it all depends what livestocks u intend to keep... some corals need more currents than the others.
  16. creative sia..... i am also interested to know if that works...
  17. cloth??? hehehe...canvas will do too... so long the light dun shine directly into your eyes....
  18. rem to include the specs of your fish as welll.... heheheheheh
  19. you may wish to try this..... get 2 fans... one to cool the lights and the other to cool the water... put it about 1" above the water surface and blow it 24/7. i have only 1 fan blowing the water surface and it has helped to cool my 2ft tank about 2-3deg..... best of luck
  20. thanks borther..... but without its claws it seems a little "handicap" and not knowing wat to do to catch food.. kekekeke....
  21. sad to announce that my tank has a terrible disaster 3 hours back..... my tank leaks on the side and i had to rush to setting up another tank to house my tank!!!!! had a mad rush mopping the floor, transfer the tank contents and fly to lfs to buy 4 packets of sea water, etc.... ALL MY MYSELF....... SUCHA miracle that i still survived till now to post a message.... i did my very best to save all the livestock but my boxer has lost its powerful claws during the transit... heard from friend that they would grow back in time.... but i am too paiseh to sell you guys the boxer and the hermit now though both creatures are still alive.... dink this thread need to close here as i belive on one wanna buy boxer with 2 lost claws??? hee.. anyway, for all your support....
