  1. Hi all, am looking for 1-feet lightset (running with e-ballast) for my tank... Will be good if it can support T5HO/T5 tubes... If it's of normal PL make, hopefully it has minimum wattage of 18W... Will be good if the model is those that has individual switch for individual tubes... Anyone who has something that fits the description above, do PM me with the brand/model/pics/condition/price/place of collection etc & I'll get back to you ASAP. Thanks!!
  2. Hi MachoMarlin, looks like I'll avoid a horned starfish in the future then... But for my case, dun have 1 living inside, so really makes me wonder who could have inflicted the wound on my starfish... Could it be Skunk Cleaner Shrimp? Common Clownfish? Scarlet Hermit? [Like playing Cluedo like dat...] Sigh! Before I can have a confirmed 'murderer', if not, apprenhensive in buying a new starfish for my girl...
  3. Hi all (Morpheous, adrianlau & arcanehacker), thanks for the speedy reply & advises... Sad to say, my Red starfish did not survive the wound found on its body, found it still & dead in my tank this morning... [it had been living happily with the other tankmates all this while: Common clown from bro Morpheous; Scarlet Hermit; Skunk Cleaner Shrimp, some zoa & red macroalgae)... So really dun understand who could have inflicted the wound on the starfish... [Anyone can offer any possible reasons for the death of my starfish? It's my girl's favourite in the tank...) As for the tiny jellyfish-like things, will try & catch it out from my tank if I manage to do so - they move very swiftly & I move very slowly!!! Cheers!! PS: Bro Morpheous, thanks, your clownfish is doing great.... Big eater, always snatch the pellets or market prawn flesh when I try to feed to my cleaner shrimp... As for weight gain...hmm.. maybe will take him out one day & place him on my kitchen's digital scale & let you know... LOL!! [Joking olny lah... The clownfish has now become the centre of attraction in the tank for my mum as it always comes out to nod its head when being called... "MIMO"... Ha!! Ha!!]
  4. Hi all, lately discovered some living stuffs in my Nano tank & wondered if it's harmful... [sorry, but the thing is too small for my digital camera to take a pic & post here...] It's transparent & white in colour, sticks on the side of the glass, has about 6 to 8 leg-like tentacles & when in moves in the water, it moves like a jellyfish... Today, just realised that my red starfish had a wound on one of its arm (as if something had bitten off flesh from it...), dunoe if it's the work of these creatures... Would appreciate if any bro can help & advise on the course of actions on this matter.... Cheers!!
  5. Hi yongshun, that's really a good deal... If include the free delivery, really saves me the hassle of having to carry all the heavy cartons/ bottles myself as I'm not driving... Ok if you PM me the contacts? By the way, do they deliver if it's just for ONE '19 litre' bottle? Or is there like a min number of bottles before they deliver? PS: How does one get water out from these '19 litre' bottles if I don't have those dispenser machine like those in the office?? Cheers!!
  6. Thanks a lot bro peacemaker for this great source of cheaper Distilled water in Sheng Siong!!! ... & I thought that I'm already getting a good deal [Always lugging those market trolley to NTUC to 'snatch' bottles of Distilled water with people looking at me as if I'm some wierd freak... ] currently with this brand of Distilled Water "LIFE" from NTUC, selling at $0.95 for two 1.5 litres bottles... [That works out to be $0.475 per bottle] Looks like now I must target Sheng Siong for my source of Distilled water already... Cheers!! PS: Does it matter if I change my brand of Distilled water from one brand [LIFE] to another brand [Alpheus]? Will it cause any shock to my livestocks? Or are the 2 actually about the same?
  7. Hi all, intend to get a few pieces of shells suitable for a Red Scarlet Hermit Crab to 'upgrade'... Does anyone has any spare/unwanted shells to give me? Do let me know & I'll get back to you ASAP, thanks! PS: My Hermit is still quite small (about the size of a 20cent coin - including its shell...); Hopefully collection area around Punggol/Sengkang or somewhere nearby... Cheers!!
  8. Hi Underwater, thanks for the suggestion but I'm having a Nano tank for my marine (GEX 24 cm cube tank), so do not have a sump tank available... Thought of getting a small betta tank to let the mushroom attach itself to a small piece of LR first but also do not have the benefit of space for a betta tank anymore in my Nano tank... Sigh! That's the disadvantage of a Nano lor... PS: Had placed the mushroom frag on another spot on my LR (also not much flow, but the spot is a bit sunken on the LR though...) again to try, so far so good, never get 'displaced' again... Will monitor & see how... [Any idea how long it'll take the mushroom to get attached to the LR naturally??] Thanks!!
  9. Tried to place it on a spot on my liverocks with minimum water current but noticed that it always landed back on the sandbed after a few moments... Dunoe if it's the mushroom's own decision (maybe I chose a bad spot) or due to my livestocks (clownfish, scarlet hermit, skunk cleaner shrimp, red starfish) toppling the mushroom accidentally/ intentionally... Any other ways to let the mushroom 'fix' onto a spot on the liverocks? [Do not intend to use any forms of glue in my case...] Thanks!!
  10. Many thanks to flying carpet, Achilles Tang & Underwater for the ind responses... Dun think it came from the Liverocks in my tank, however, added some zoas & red macroalgae a few weeks ago... So maybe it could be from them... Wow!! A small purple mushroom frag!!! Yipee!!! So in that case, after I'd placed it on my liverocks (without much current) what else must I take note? Does it require high/low light? What to feed it with? Another other important things to take note? Thanks in advance for all advises... PS: Noticed that this thing does sometimes 'expand' & sometimes 'contract' till very small in size... Is it normal?
  11. Hi all, got up today & saw this piece of thing [in the red box] lying on my sand in my Nano tank... Don't know what it is, can anyone help me to ID it? Thanks!!! Is it ok to leave it in my tank or do I need to remove it?
  12. Upz for bro Peong!!! The zoas are doing great in my tank....
  13. Really?!? Will be interested if it's really so... [i.e. I just need to get live sand & rocks & the live stocks.... Pls tell me it's true spaceage....
  14. Hi gfishy, thanks alot for your speedy replies (in the other thread about the 2 feet cube tank also...)... Sigh!! Love the RSM's one also but cost is a factor stopping me leh, hence looking to get used ones but still in useable conditions... Any idea how much will the smaller one (Redsea Max) cost? How about those by JBJ, Jebao etc... Many thanks!
  15. Hi bro, like to ask if it's those type which is a hangon filter ###### skimmer type? Do you think it can fit in comfortably in a 24cm cube tank? Possible to take some pics? [Ha! Ha! Or maybe think I drop by your place will be much faster lah...] PS: Your clownfish is happily swimming in my tank now amongst my zoa & red macroalgae... but seems like it needs a fish mate also leh... LOL!!!
  16. Hi spaceage, interested in your 2'X2'X2' cube tank with designer base. for $40, it's only the tank & the base rite? As your tank setup looks very neat & nice from your pics, may I ask are the sump tanks, pumps, skimmers etc & other equipments housed & hidden inside the base of the tank? If I get the tank & the base from you, does it mean I need to get the sump, skimmer, pumps, pipes & other things to run the tank myself? [Very sorry, but I'm very new in Marine & this will be my first time going into tanks with sumps.... if this goes thru'....] Cheers!!
  17. Hi all, am interested in getting this Tetra Tank set from someone & use it as a Marine Tank instead [Yes... admit that I'm getting deeply 'poisoned' by marine tanks...], however, don't know if it is suitable. As stated, it's thickness is around 4mm (is it possible to handle saltwater?) only... More details of the tank set can be found in the link below: http://www.tetra-fish.com/sites/tetrafish/...76&cid=3211 Besides the issue of the thickness of the glass, my other concerns will be: 1) Am I able to change current light to those suitable for marine tanks (i.e. white & actnic blue & LEDs if possible)? 2) Am I able to house a skimmer in the future without removing the tank cover? All answers will be greatly appreciated!!1
  18. Hi bro nicholascjh, looks like you'd gotten your livestocks after cycling your tank for about 4 weeks+??? Your set up looks very nice & neat - unlike mine, very plain simple & so ugly that I don't dare to post pics up here to share with others for criticisms..... [Am saying that the way I scaped my tank is ugly, not meaning the cute livestocks & corals inside though...] So what had you added into your tank? Can list down if possible? So you went down to farms in Pasir Ris? By the way, so sorry that I still had not collected the blue tubes from you leh... Anyway, hope to see more updated on your nice 'NANA' tank... LOL!!!
  19. Hi bro, so good to be able to look at a marine tank as you are playing game or online surfing the net... [For my case, am typing this reply while my the splashing sound of water from my rainbar in my freshwater planted tank...] Your skunk cleaner is so cool, as if like taking a walk on the rocks like that... Mind asking what's the name of that pink & yellow fish? Looks nice in a nano... Is it a damsel kind? Is it aggressive? Possible to house with common clownfish, scarlet hermit, red starfish & skunk cleaner also? Thanks in advance for the replies....
  20. I think in the case of a Nano setup, a skimmer is not a 'Must-have' thing... Maybe it's a 'good to have' kinda thing? [so actually it all depends on one's own viewpoint...] For my case [Nano tank using GEX Genoah 236 - basically a 24cm cube tank], space is not a privilege for me... However, after reading the pros of having a skimmer (even in a Nano), I bought this cheapo "NIROX protein skimmer" [cost about 1 piece of red note] from a shop @ Pasir Ris fish farms previously also... No doubt it is going to take up some more space of my already cramped Nano tank (which means that I'll have to accept the tradeoff of having less livestocks in it), my thinking was that if this skimmer can help me in maintaining a better water quality for my existing livestocks, I dun mind the tradeoff... However, have not run this skimmer yet, as I'd yet to get an Air Pump for it... Intend to get it by this weekend & run my skimmer for my tank setup ASAP... Cheers! PS: I would love the idea of buying instant seawater (from Iwarna) also if possible, however the idea of having to carry the water out from the farms on foot is really killing.... Ha!! Ha!! [How I wish PUB will design in the future a tap in households that is able to channel seawater from the sea to our house with just a turn of the tap.... LOL!!! Yah! I'm dreaming, but who knows? Maybe it'll come true next time when seawater desalination is going to be so common....]
  21. Hi bro, saw your updated pics, it sure looks cool even being a nano & without any livestocks in yet (if my eyes had seen correctly..) Now I'm also itching to convert my similar tank (freshwater planted) to a marine setup like yours also... Mind if I ask you the purpose/ function of adding in the Boyu Powerhead in your Nano setup beside the hangon filter? [How much does a Boyu powerhead cost roughly?] Thanks!
  22. Hi bro, does it comes with 1 outlet or multiple? [sigh!] Should have asked you if you have one that day when I went your place, then can save the trouble of having to make another trip again... By the way, thanks a lot for the lump of chaeto!!! Cheers!
  23. Hi bro, will get from you if not that I'd already bought a piece of Nirox Protein Skimmer... Now still trying to get a suitable air pump to get it to work leh... [Actually I like the idea of having a filter with the skimmer as 1 piece of equipment better as it's more space saving in my small GEX tank...} Cheers! Upz for your sale!!! BTW, you managed to find the 2 clips for the cover of the GEX tank that I'd bought from you? Seriously don't remember seeing them in the tank set when I bought it from you previously leh... Paiseh to raise it up to you only so late as I only realised lately (after asking some other bros using the GEX tank setup) that the part I thought was meant to be the clips is actually meant to extend the lightset... What a noob I am....
  24. Hi all, am looking for an Air Pump (hopefully not too big in size) to run my Nirox Protein Skimmer intended to be used in my Nano tank. Anyone who has a suitable air pump with strong flowrate & is in good working conditions, do PM me for price/ model (even better if got pics)... prefer if collection is around Punggol 21 or along NEL... Many thanks! PS: The Nirox Protein Skimmer that I'd bought is those cheapo kinda protein skimmer (cost around $10+) & stated to be able to work for tanks up to 50L....
  25. Hi bro, still avail? Is it the same model as the one discussed in the thread below? If yes, I'm most interested. How long had it been used? Thanks! http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...protein+skimmer
