  1. Folks need your advice. My Lemonpeel angel just upped the lorry this morning. Some facts: Lemonpeel has been with me for the past 8 months. Bought from a LFS. Feeding well since Day 1. Very active and alert. Except for Day 1 when it was harassed by my YT when it was introduced to the tank. Other than that it was never bullied and was happily swimming in my tank since. Water parameters in check. PO4 a bit high (1 ppm) but I don't reckon that's the problem. The rest of the livestock seem ok. Recent changes - did 20% WC using Iwarna NSW on Monday. Bought a small rock of Red Bamboo Algae for my YT and BT to munch on from Ah Beng last weekend, but removed it on Monday as it was already botak liao. Other than that, no new addition of livestock or corals for the past few months. Observed my Lemonpeel to be listless yesterday morning. Refused to feed and was swimming funny in a vertical position for most of yesterday. I also noticed maroonish, velvety-reddish stains appearing on its body. I knew it would not live past the night as I remembered my previous Lemonpeel succumbing to the same mysterious disease over a year ago. True enough, I found it dead this morning. Back then, Joe P suspected Velvet to be the cause for the death of my previous Lemonpeel based on what he heard from me, but did not have the benefit of looking at my tank and seeing the body. The scary thing was that following the death of my previous Lemonpeel, it took only less than 2 weeks or so for the remaining livestock to be wiped out. Managed to take photos of the Lemonpeel's body this morning which I have attached. Notice the reddish stains on the body? They started appearing on it yesterday evening and were the exact same symptoms I observed on my previous Lemonpeel. Are they symptomatic of Velvet? Or some other disease? Appreciate your views please. Thanks in advance!
  2. I think I know which LFS you're referring to - 2 immediate 'suspects' come to mind immediately hahaha. Just to OT and share an experience of a friend at one of these 2 LFSes: He walked in and had his eye on a nice small-sized Flamehawk and enquired about the price. LFS: "Ah this one good piece. I give you good price - $XX," Customer: "Huh? So expensive ah? My friend bought his much cheaper somewhere else," LFS: "Is it? How much did your friend get it for?" Customer: "$YY" LFS: "Like that ah ok lah I give you same price also lah, special only for you," Mind you the price difference is like 30% lor. And they do it for most of the other items in the shop as well. I guess at the end of the day, willing buyer concept rules lah. Just step out of the shop if you don't want to pay over the odds for what you want. That's my principle anyway. We're not obliged to buy if we're not comfortable with the pricing.
  3. Interesting scaping concept! +1 from me as well. Looking forward to pictures of the scaping soon! Should work well with a shallow tank. But am wondering how one would be able to maintain the sloping substrate without it being shifted around?
  4. Likewise with you. Cheers! PS: Would love to check out your 7 footer in future!
  5. Hey dude, thanks for the link. Saw it, but am looking for 39W T5s instead of 21W T5s. Unless you know how to mod the ballast for me? Haha
  6. Folks looking for a second-hand 3 Ft 2 x 150W Mh (or 1 x 250W Mh) + 2 x 39W T5 lightset. It's ok if the set comes without bulbs / tubes. Or if the ballast has died. Drop me a PM or text me at Nine-Seven-Six-O-Six-Four-Four-Five if you have a set for sale. Thanks.
  7. I second Onizuka's views. Never wanted to even think about keeping a MI until I came across what I thought was a really nice specimen which was already feeding on pellets and mysis. Gave in to temptation after seeing it feed at the LFS and it was fine throughout its 2.5 week stay in my tank - no ich, no spots, eating healthily and swimming happily. Just died for no rhyme or reason without warning one fine day. It was feeding happily just the day before. Apparently I read somewhere that there is something in the MI's natural diet that cannot be replicated by reefkeepers. Yet. So I'd advise you to give up on the idea of keeping a MI. Unlikely to survive.
  8. Dude, you can take some from me from Chinatown if you're around the area during office hours. Drop me a PM. No it won't kill Zoas if you accidentally 'hit' some in your process of killing the nuisance Aipstasia. IMO I find JJ more effective (and cheaper) than other methods, although some here would scientifically disagree.
  9. I don't recall seeing it dude, else I'd remembered, given that its uniqueness. Better to call and check perhaps?
  10. Just over at AM earlier this afternoon. Lots and lots of BE Anthias various sizes. 1 for 9 light purple notes, 3 for 3 red notes. Dracula gobies and red/white gobies. Other than that nothing much.
  11. Nice coloration! They look like the pair at Irwana that I no longer see. Wonder what happened to them. Are they hybrids? Or just really black True Percs? Where did you get them from?
  12. Please contact the seller directly for the details.

  14. Lightset sold to a nice reefer. Thread closed.
  15. Mods kindly pardon me for the sidetracking. You don't need a lot of Juice for each Aip, just sufficient to cover the disc, as if you're target feeding it. A bottle should be able to last you for about 200 Aips or so. Use straw, sea squirt, syringe (which is provided with the Juice) etc to each the Aips, sure can one! It's the same logic - getting 5 or 6 of the Peppers may not guarantee that any one of them will feed on the Aips. Same logic for the Copperband Butterflies. Like I said, I bought a pair of Peppers and they didn't do anything to the Aips in my tank. It was the same for my friend, who bought a pair as well. You can still try if you insist - it's really a case of heng sway with the peppers or copperbands.
  16. 2 Ft Hopar 4xT5 24W Lights for sale. 8 months old. Condition 7/10. 2x24W T5 Blue tubes 2x24W T5 White tubes Going for S$50. PM me if interested. Thanks.
  17. Try LCK. They have plenty. 1 red and green note each. You're trying to contain an Aipstasia outbreak I'm guessing? If you are, getting Peppermint Shrimps is not a guaranteed solution as they may or may not feed on the Aipstasias in your tank. I bought a pair and they didn't do s-hit for me. Decided to use Joe's Juice in the end. Worked like a charm heheh  I'd recommend The Juice instead of Peppermint Shrimps. 1.2 red notes v 1.5 red notes (which may or may not give you returns on your investment), I'd go for the former.
  18. ML selling them for 1.6 red notes each. I saw some at Irwarna as well. Going rate should be about 1 green note.
  19. Nope. Only the big fat ones in the blue tubs I think. So far only CF have small PTs.
  20. Spotted plenty of small (about 2 inches) Purple Tangs at CF this afternoon. Nice specimens but pricey. At least 12 red notes for that size. As for Yellow Tangs, plentiful at most of the LFSes of various sizes. You shouldn't have a problem finding one.
  21. Yup. LCK has like 2 tankfuls of them when I popped by this afternoon. At least 30 pcs left. ML still has about 6. So take your pick.
