  1. Evansi are more delicate and can be problematic They cannot complete with the more aggressive anthias. I have to remove my only bartlett so as not to stress them too much. Happy to say that they are feeding very well.
  2. This is a aggressive male Randall.
  3. Since there is a current craze for these beautiful fishes, I like to show some pics of my fishes. I kept them in a 4x2x2 connected to my main tank. This tank only has LR, I have removed the LPS to another tank cos I have lost a few of these beauties to them...they become LPS food. They are fed at least 2 times a day, and almost all the fishes will eat 'out of my hand'. Would not recommend newbies to try some of the anthias as they are very sensitive to poor water condition. Some are also very finicky about what they will eat. Tank View
  4. chipson1 It all depend on your tank vol. If you want to keep anthias in a school...then it would be best to avoid other fishes. Either they eat the food first or if they are timid, the more aggressive will eat first. Trained the anthias to feed 'off your hand' so as to avoid throwing extra food into the water. That would cut down the amount of nutrient you dump into the tank. Having a very efficient skimmer also help.
  5. AT you should keep goldfish or guppies...if you want long fins
  6. Use the underside of your forearm to brush against it, if you feel the stings, then it is a carpet From the very blur pic...it is difficuilt to tell the size. If it is small then I think it could be a mushroom.
  7. Think I got the name for the second anthias. It is a Pseudanthias flavoguttatus Looks like a tiger x princess offspring. Pic was taken from the web, wish it was in my tank
  8. Who knows...one day to own corals may be illegal, If you are worried, maybe you should not start...go for fresh water aquarium
  9. It is a Red Belted Anthias. (Pseudanthias rubrizonatus) From my experience, it is easy to keep but super aggressive. Should be 1 of the last anthias you put into the tank if your tank is too small
  10. Whoa Max.....luckily I do not have to do what you write....think I'll give up and change to a FOWLR. Ian, do you a macro algae refugium? Think this might help.
  11. Sorry to hear that you are not susessful in the battle of the byopsis. I have seen a tank that is a byopsis culturing farm. Every square inch is covered with them.....but then the tank heavily stocked with fishes and heavily fed. If you reduce your bioload until the byopsis goes away and then restock again maybe that will break the cycle.
  12. It is real, it is a month but just can't remember the name. It fly like a hummingbird, super fast.. There is also a orange coloured variety. Both are found in Singapore.
  13. In my case, it is a immediate difference. I only turn on the lights in the evening. and I can change the position my lights easily.
  14. There is no ferry service to P Hantu from WTC. You have to charter 1 of those bumboat from Pasir Panjang to bring you there.
  15. No experience with actinic but the 400++nm wavelength sure make the corals look much better. I have a SE BLV10k and Radium over my tank and the colours of the corals look horrible under the 10k compared to Radium.
  16. It is a Indian vagabond butterflyfish (chaetoedon decussatus)
  17. One sure way is to take everything out and dry in the sun.
  18. So many voted for achilles, just wondering how many has them swimming in their tank?
  19. roidan, those may be of a different species. Not too sure it will work. Hoping it will also help me get rid of some pesky button
  20. Hey roidan...can you collect about 10 nudie for me...want to try them out on aiptasia. See whether these small ones will eat them.
  21. If you do not have hard corals eg like brain, you don't have to worry. You problem is getting them to eat and stay healthy.
