I'm using a bullet 2 since Nov 2000 to skim my 500gal tank.
It is a very good skimmer if you use the correct type of pump. I am using a MD55 to power the thing.
Got mine from premium aquatics.
I feed live rotifers and phytoplankton to my sps tank everytime I harvest. I don't think it matters if the lights are on or off.
I have never really feed the sps before I started my plankton cukture.
Never tried Kent product to feed before so can't comment on it
Certain lps can be feed on more solid food like mysis or shrimp meat.....elegance for example.
In my case...I hardly feed my lps....simply provide it with good quality water and lights.
So nice of AT to volunteered.
No way you can use my tank for curing....
Still think cement is not that porous......if you add too much sand to make it "porous". it might crumble like cookie when you pick it up or it might also slowly disintegrate when you put it into the tank.
Can the nitrate converting bacteria colonise the interior of the DIY rocks or it is only for decoration purpose only.
Asking this cause cement is not porous, and there is no way water can seep into the centre.
I started culturing and feeding rotifers 3 week back.......but only harvest and feed the tank every week. Didn't notice any different yet
Maybe not enough rotifers to go round
Better not to have your tunze direct blowing at them....unless they are about 30cm or more away. Too strong a flow will blow away the tissue and you will have white skeleton.
You can direct the tunze at the glass to reduce the force.
Put in an air pump will help to reduce the smell......at the same time can also run your protein skimmer.
If you still find them too smelly and want to throw them away....you can always throw them in my tank
What mangrove farm
I only have 8 small sapling. They grow very slowly once the nutrient in the seed pods runs out. As for a good source of nitrate export...think that it is still subjective since they grow very slowly. IF you are looking at a tree then it is a different matter
Anyway IME they will survive and grow better if provided with lot of light like lighting up a sps tank. Look at the areas where they are found......direct sunlight for hours and hours.......don't know how well it will do under FL.
Roidan.....just have to leave with it. There nothing you can do. They will multiply like crazy.....but after awhile they will peak and stop.
Guess you have too much food for them.
