  1. Time to follow your new thread on the 5 footer!
  2. Did a quick look, seems to be a decent skimmer but not as adjustable. I also like the 9012 for the surface skimming function. Not forgetting that this tank has no overflow to remove the film build up. Filtration for this tank is rocks, skimmer and a minimax bioreactor. Im still thinking if the bioreactor is overkill as the only bioload in the whole tank is tentatively 2 picaso clowns and if I can find one, a flaming prawn goby.
  3. Seems like the Deltec mce600 is out of stock and I Guess it's fated. Read that Tunze 9012 DC is a good skimmer and I decided to go for that instead. Also decided to up my Wavemaker to a Vortech Mp40qd. My braceless tank will need to be 1cm glass at least (which the mp10 can't support, checked the vortech website and realised that mp10 will be under power for a SPS tank Of my volume). So again fated. More flow better for SPS too. Will keep updating this thread with more news!
  4. Yes looking forward to it as well! Currently trying to decomm my set up now at a fair price Freshwater planted with High grade Japanese PRL.
  5. Was told to stick to the straight forward simpler dosing methods and after some research I'm quite decided on the Two little fishes C-balance. Anyone has any bad experiences with C-balance? Salt of choice now currently is D-D H2Ocean.
  6. Indeed. Was very happy to get the green light. Hahaha Looking at setting up a SPS dominated sparse reef to start with. Will probably get some BN or simple to keep SPS to begin with once my tank is up. Maybe I should pop over your place one of these days just to have a chat and catch up =)
  7. Just rocks and deltec mce600. Trying to minimise where detritus can accumulate! no issues ya?
  8. Bro your tank is beautiful! One of the nano tanks that drew me back to reefing, hopefully mine turns out well!
  9. Hahaha really ah? Lol. Just tank, aquaroche rocks and hob skimmer. No filter wool or anything. Trying to minimise where detritus can accumulate.
  10. Been a very long time since I decommed, moving back to marine after such a long hiatus. I moved into PRL w Bucephalandra for the whole of last year. Went pretty high end but I still couldn't get the satisfaction. Ultimately got the green light from my Fiancé to go for a small Lagoon tank. Will try my hands at SPS again! (Keeping my fingers crossed) Intended Equipment list: 60x60x40cm tank (no overflow) AI Prime x1 (from my existing tank) will get another unit or more when I'm going to start putting SPS in. Deltec mce600 (HOB) Vortech mp10qd Healia HS66a (existing chiller, driven using empty Ehiem 2217; chamber just in case I need to use media) Aquaroche rocks (2 small islands, very sparse is the plan) Thin layer of Aragonite sand just to cover the bottom Bacteria will be Biodigest For now I will stick to 15% weekly water change till the demands of the Coral are more intensive then Fauna Marin light balling method with a auto doser. Livestock will be a pair of designer clownfish. A full helmet picaso clownfish and a gladiator picaso clownfish (currently the breeder is trying to help me pair them up). I saw some very enticing photos of colourful sticks from @cedricang. Guess it's a comeback and hopefully a good one! Would love to hear everyone's advise!

Why don't you go for a 1 ft cube instead? HOB filter, a PAR38 for lighting, can even consider getting the tank from East Ocean Aquatic... optic white glass. ;)

WAH the prices are very competitive! Might go for the 20cm cube and blast it with a Par38 or high output LED, will get a nano wave-maker, daily 25% water change.

Any idea whether the Hydro nano wm produces a lot of heat?

So tempting but how to convince gf to let me start? hmm...

Need to find nicely shaped LR too. I don't mind artificial ones and I seed it with bacteria slowly.

Any suggestions where I can view/order them?

  15. Have some of these spare chemicals lying around for my Brackish water tank. Stopped using these as I have invested in a Nano CO2 system. Seachem Clarity (250mL - only used 5ml) bought at 15 selling at 12bucks! Product info- http://www.seachem.com/Products/product_pages/Clarity.html More suited towards planted aquariums: Seachem flourish Excel (250mL- only used 10ml) bought at 12 selling at 10bucks! Product info- http://www.seachem.com/Products/product_pages/FlourishExcel.html Ocean free CO2 tablets (48 tabs, used only 4 tabs) bought at 12.50 selling at 10bucks! Interested buyers can text me at 97580282. Pick up will be at Kembagan Mrt =)
  16. Nice Tank! Wah see your tank I am very tempted to go back to Marine! Too bad for now no moola... Though I am increasingly inclined towards shallow Macro tanks now. Am planning a nano lagoon; Seagrass and macro algae. A pair of Mandarin dragonets for livestock (Really like those buggers so much that I will just keep them, no other fish). Tank will be very minimalistic, no sump just a tank and nano wave maker. Anyway, does CR do crystal glass with white silicon like those ADA kind?
  17. High flow is most important to get ur Chaeto growing IMO. Consider getting one of those cheap SUNSUN wave maker. If your chaeto can tumble around that would be best! =)
  18. Currently back up for sale! Asking for 360bucks!
  19. I decommed my tank; change in priorities. The Deltec MCE600 is an excellent skimmer! Would you be interested in putting in a decent offer?
  20. PM me your offers for a Deltec MCE600, 3months old, reef depot set. Still have about 9months warranty left. Excellent condition. All cleaned up and ready to go. No low ballers please!
