  1. Wow how did it eat your bamboo shark? Looks really nasty for its size
  2. Nice tank! what is the gadget u using for the return flow?
  3. Its a Hairy crab. Pilumnus vespertilio. Just did a search on it, From http://tidechaser.blogspot.com/2010/02/semakau-walk-on-29-jan-2010.html) When i first saw this pic, i got a shock, followed by a good laugh. Looks like crab version of Chewbacca
  4. Just the height of the amount of sand u intend to use bro. Need not be exact fit. As long it can fit in the middle compartment to house the sand, remaining live rocks can be place on top or by the side if your container is small and allows room. I am sure exxe knows what i mean. I used this concept before and worked well for me, easier to maintain, and u get a nice deep sand bed for cultivating beneficial stuff as compared to the sand constantly shifting in your sump. Is there any mechanical filtration? I.e Filter wool or filter sock? Cant see from pic.
  5. Very nice tank bro! Love the snowflake, never had the chance to keep one. Seems very active. Any chance the sand might actually cause a block to the flow of water in your sump? my suggestion would be to put in a glass container or another small glass/ plastic tank so u can fill it with the sand and create a similar deep sand bed effect. Easier on maintenance too and gives the sump a nice smooth flow.
  6. Very interesting concept, Ill be camping here. Somehow wonder how this works if u are using an overflow system.
  7. Well, if u intend on upgrading and transferring the reactor. Than i suggest getting those hangon reactors for now. Like phosban 150 or DD Oceanic reactors, run either biopellets or biosphere its up to you. When u eventually upgrade, u can bring it over, and also add on an additional reactor for phosphate remover media. That will be great!
  8. Oops! Sorry my mistakes, it's aquarist chamber! Thanks for the correction.
  9. Lol that's fast. Didn't even know the items for sale. Haha.
  10. Just checked with delighting yesterday. Still no news. Something about factory not releasing here. May have to wait awhile longer it seems
  11. If u have the room, run biopellets, biosphere in a reactor. Else u can do prebiotic dosing like prodibio/biotim. Polyplab reef-resh, microbacter 7 + biofuel, zeovit
  12. Hey Ash, Nitrates are currently at 20. Its day 3 now of dosing Polyplab Reef-resh. No visible changes, but i think its starting to build up in the system. Will continue to monitor. BUT! Since i started the dosing, my fruitloops are all opening up nicely!! Premium really premium. Haha. I'm also gonna do a water change tomorrow to aid the process abit. Bought a new pump for my bm nac 3.5 skimmer yesterday, not much a difference from the one i washed completely, but has a bit more foam now at the neck. And i made another shocking discovery yesterday. My good old TDS meter was giving me false readings all along. It read 002 with my crystal pro DI unit water. But when i used another TDS meter, 102!!!!! Replaced all the media, now back to normal at 003 with new tds meter! So bloody mad. Maybe thats why my sps are all taking a toll. dame.
  13. I vote AI if u have the budget to spare! Read so many good reviews
  14. Yeah bro, definitely go for either the new model of maxspect, i.e razor, the g2 not controllable. Or go for AI. Im using the maxspect razor 10k, 16k is the best. I didnt even know about kelvin rating, and was given the 10k without knowing. Should have read up more.
  15. Bro, u can try aquarium artist, Plenty of purple firefish, as for tangs n royal gamma, new trio. Else just wait awhile, definitely will see in pasir ris.
  16. Hi bro! nice set up. Might have to be more diligent with the water changes since u got some advance caring corals, like the goniopora. Used to own an iq5, in my bedroom. Gave up after a while, and upgraded!
  17. Wow, very nice to finally see u start up bro!. Seems fine to me man. Just regular water change for nano and u should be sweet. So u going for fish only?
  18. First Pic is beautiful, but, wheres all the equipment or plumbing? Looks very much like an artist impression.
  19. Impressive collection, ups for ur sales bro!
  20. Ups for a perfect qt tank size! Even comes with skimmer!
  21. Some updates on my tank! Skimmer is working fine again, pulling out tea colour gank, hopefully i can get it fine tuned, considering buying a new pump for it, afterall, the skimmer been with me for 3 yrs now. Anyone has any idea the lifespan of a typical skimmer pump? i.e when will it start losing its power? Water Parameters: My nitrates are still relatively high, its going down slowly, but surely. I have sold off 3 livestock to assist in the process. I have decided to start using Polyp Lab Reef-Resh. Bought a brand new set today, will update on its progress and maybe do a review in couple of weeks. Seems very promising with good reviews. Was a toss up between the following: 1. Zeovit full system, 2. Brightwell microbacter 7+ Bio fuel, 3. Adding a bio pellet reactor, 4. Prodibio biodigest and bioptim, 5. using NP pellets XL in the overflow compartment. Came to the conclusion that the polyp lab reef-resh was more straightforward and had better reviews. Also, didnt have much space for another reactor to run bio pellets. Any idea if ULNS system will be able to support my anemone? Sorry for the bad quality of the images, I am using my phone to take the pics, not an expert in photography at all! Top Down view of my sps corals. Seems like the walt smith stylo isnt really enjoying the lighting, I have moved it down. It has not bleached yet, still able to observe good PE. Hope it will get its pink back slowly. My pink bird nest really took a beating from the nitrate spike if u notice. Still has nice PE in the day now since i got my skimmer back up n running. Sigh, one mistake and u can easily wipe n sps colony out. My newest member! Sunburst Anthias, finally got it feeding on frozen, next is pellets!! This anemone is the longest member in my tank, about 3 yrs, bought it when i started. Had its ups n downs, but since moving to this tank, its colour is getting better each day. Some of my zoas, Somehow my fruitloops doesn't open up much. It opens every now and than, been inspecting it closely for any diseases, seems fine to me.
  22. Did u get it locally? Or ordered online bro? Have been waiting to get this local.
  23. Yeah, i got a reply. But a little over my budget. Ups for ur sale. solid looking tank and stand.
  24. Haha just pick it up and use a brush to clean ur hermit than.
