  1. Retired radion gen 1 with tir lens. Doesnt want to adjust individuals colors and wait for some period and corals changes its color, then later color faded and u start adjusting the colors again. Just wan something like a mh light where u can just select 10k, 14k 20k. Bought kessil a360we after reading and researching. Prefer a single point source light which the dense matrix led array provides. and it's full spectrum? It's also very very light. As read on the forums, the glitter is different as compared to the radion. However, as I have 2 rapidled par 38 bulbs as supplement, they sort of greatly reduce the glitter. So I suppose I need a 2 kessil so as to retire the rapidled par38. Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  2. I too feel it's expensive but it's a one time spending. When u look thru the magnifier, u would be willing to spend $ to buy it.
  3. Got this from a local tainan lfs. Looks similar to the reef builder type. 2200nt. Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  4. Selling radion gen1 with tir lens at $350(no lower). Just had the fan replaced.

  6. best is call qianhu or ask the Lfs tat sells u this. If u set the temp lower than the detected water temp, does the compressor in the chiller run? If chiller runs n housing of chiller doesn't get warm then maybe compressor inside is spoilt. Do u connect a pump to the chiller? Not sure does the chiller has a flow sensor to make sure there's enough water flow to enable the compressor.
  7. sometimes it depends on the living organisms is more resistive to the stings. But so far anemone stings r well known. The organism next to it might be more stressful when the tentacles of the anemone r stretched. Their lifespan might be shortened though they can survive. Anemone can expand in size so dun place too close to them. Anemone also like to shift around when water flow changes etc. so even if u manage to put something next to the anemone, the anemone might dislike the neighbor n start its terror attack or move away.
  8. The wonder of marine I suppose. For fresh water u wouldn't get this. Guess u have a white sand bed and find it awful for the black stuff. Maybe some organisms grow and poo. Fishes also poop in long strings. When they grow big, poo gets bigger too. If u r really concerned of this, probably u need to arm yrself a red color flashlight n camp in front of tank at night to see who contributed the poo. Just let nature take its course if the poo producer is not a pest. Can get sand stars to get rid of the poo though they might not target feed on every drop of them.
  9. after my trip back from Taiwan in mar, will get my new light set n do a FR.
  10. hi, I saw the turnable motor at madpetz last wk when im there
  11. I can't convince myself to pay 600 for led clusters, Warranty on these clusters nia. Furthermore if g3 pro. Expect to pay 700-800 for this. 700 for vortech pump im good but not this nonsense. Also the disco light effect... If ecotech comes out with a better led design that solves this then I may upgrade. But just not dumping 600 n more for changing of led colors. No way... If follow the radion marketing style, from g1 to g3 I can change to a custom made acrylic tank.
  12. i making plans to change my gen1 radion. I want to have an end to led cluster upgrade. Machiam copy iPhone style marketing. Am sourcing new light fixture. Just something to have sunrise n set effect with full spectrum will do. Dun find the need to change color ever so often since corals will be stressed by the changes.
  13. admire yr DIY spirit. Acrylic is nice. For circulation fan, if space permits, can get those ventilation fan pple install at toilet or kitchen. High air vol movement, lower power consumption and dun rust. But the main issue is water evaporation is high.
  14. A DIY from RC. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=187df501e988f91dd9d6baa0f824cc8b&t=2372156
  15. The "full spectrum" chip on board led. I think most of the led light fixture have the single colored led, installed in an array. Pple have been saying abt disco light effect. So I guess some light fixtures utilize those "bug eye" reflectors to spread out the light. And some have to install the light fixture higher above the water surface to have a better light spread. So chanced upon this led. Looks great. Theoretically it should be better than having each individual color led installed. http://www.ledgroupbuy.com/lumia-5-1-100w-full-spectrum-5-channel-led/ Am not saying this led is good but aquarium led tech is still evolving and I just feel the multi chip would be able to mimic that single source of a mh. For those who like to DIY, maybe u would like to try this type of chip. Can also google on chip on board led or multi chip.
  16. my opinion is does a single wp40 consumes the same area as a wp40. I just feel the less pump footprint in the tank then better
  17. as the compressor chill down time is short, yr room will not be warm as compared to a aquarium chiller. Power efficiency is better. As for noise, dun think it is audible when u r in yr bedroom. Only con is its big size. If u can have it installed at the air on ledge, it would be perfect.
  18. 1/2” Is 640nt. 1" is 1000nt. So u want 2 x 1/2" & 2x 1"? Total would be 3280nt
