  1. The corals in my african cichilid tank (fresh water)are fake while the corals in my marine tank are real. I usually get my fake corals from Nanyang Sea View located at Jalan Kayu Farmway. They sell fake corals at lower prices compared to other stores. However, the fake corals they bring in nowadays are limited. Thus, now i go to Lorong Harlus Farmway where there is a large freshwater farm which sells many accesories. They have cheap fake corals, both hard and soft ones. They even have the big blocks of fake corals. One piece of fake coral should not cost more than $9.00. Anything more than that are considered expensive. Regards, Anonymous2294
  2. Hahas. I can resist buying fish BUT not corals. For a nano reef like mine, if i fill it with many corals, will it overload? Regards, Anonymous2294
  3. Thanks:D Skimmer is doing fine. However i am curious about sth. I get greenish/brownish water collected in the cup. Is it normal to have water collected or must it be only foam? Regards, Anonymous2294
  4. Hi. I wanna plant some sea grapes in my tank. I am fine with any colour but green will be best. Thanks a lot:D Sms me at 85713539. Regards, Anonymous2294

  7. Oh yeah. Answer to your first question. Yeap. I do have test kits for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and pH. Thus i measure directly from the tap. Regards, Anonymous2294
  8. Hahas. 80-120 bucks are still within budget. If i gotta replace the cartridge inside, how much will it cost? I need to plan long term as well. Dun wanna incur too much cost. Regards, Anonymous2294
  9. Correction. I top up about 750ml of water each day..... Regards, Anonymous2294
  10. Thanks:D I wont be adding more fish anymore. I think 3 is the limit. Maybe i will add some xenia corals. Regards, Anonymous2294
  11. Hahas. Thanks:D Actually these fake corals for cichilid tanks dun come cheap. They cost as much as real corals or even more expensive!!!! Regards, Anonymous2294
  12. Wheres madpets? I think for now i will continue using my seachem safe to detoxify nitrates and chlorine. My tank has a cooler fan so the evaporation rate is high. Normally i top up about 330ml a day. Regards, Anonymous2294
  13. Which part of sengkang can i pick the sand up from you? Say tmr possible? I am pretty free the whole day. Regards, Anonymous2294
  14. I always enjoyed going to Wisma as a kid to see the tank. Now i am a teenager and its sad to see the tank in wisma gone. Same for the one at changi airport D:
  15. Sorry for asking so many questions. Will it be good if i wash the sand and dry it under the sun then when it gets completely dry, i place it into the tank. At least the dead bacteria is not introduced into the tank (am i right to say to)? Regards, Anonymous2294
  16. Will the dead sand contribute to the nitrates before it turns live again?
  17. I stay in sengkang also. Can i collect from you? I just have to put it into the tank? Newbie here. Regards, Anonymous2294
  18. Hi bro, i saw the madpetz web. I am not into buying such systems online. Hahas. I am the more conventional person who will buy things at LFS only. At least i dun have to take the trouble to post the stuff back in case of any defects. However, thanks a lot. I got an estimation of the prices on the web so i can do my accounting better:D Student here so i wanna have my nano reef as budget as possible. Regards, Anonymous2294
  19. Thanks for all your contributions:D I have some sea grapes in my tank already. But i want to have some more of it. The previous ones came with my LR. Is there any place that sells small frags of sea grapes? Regards, Anonymous2294
  20. I am using the MT-402. What I did was i made a platform below the feeding lid and cable tie a Dymax (m size) cooling fan. Dymax has many sizes of cooling fans so you are certainly able to find one that fits. Also, i open my feeding lid as long as the lights are on. This allows better ventilation. Check out my tank: Regards, Anonymous2294
  21. I also have an African Cichilid tank. It was this tank that inspired me to start a saltwater tank.
  22. My 8 gallon nano which is two months old. I have a yellow tail damsel, maroon clown and a pink/yellow fish which i dunno the name. Wanted a royal grammar initially but no stock so ended up buying this fish. Corals wise there are mushrooms, purple star polyps, button polyps, fingers. Please correct me if i get the coral names wrong. Others are some sea grapes and feather dusters. Chiller fan placed under the feeding lid. I built a platform under the feeding lid using a toy that i was playing with when i was four years old (17 years old this year). I then cable tie the cooler fan onto the platform. This is a boyu protein skimmer. I sawed off the brackets on the skimmer so that it could fit into the chamber.
  23. Okays. I will do so. Thanks a lot:D Regards, Anonymous2294
  24. Its possible. Few years back i had a marine fish only tank. It was only 1 gallon with no skimmer or chiller. Had one clown inside and there was no problems. Only thing is that you gotta do weekly water changes. Regards, Anonymous2294
  25. I had the same problem for my bouyu protein skimmer. The micro bubbles will last for about 2-3 days only. Its known as the break in period. SHould be fine after a few days. Regards, Anonymous2294
