  1. bought a chiller for my corals!!!! changed to canister filtration system!!!!! changed from sea water to salt mixed water!!!!! enjoy the pics
  2. dont break your tank when moving in your furnitures....
  3. oh i realized what that is already. called sea life and the friendly uncle told me it was the secretion that the anemone made when it is stressed or acclimatizing to my water. it stopped doing that after 1 day so i gathered it is happy. it found a spot already and hosted with my anemone crab.....
  4. it depends on your salinity as well...so u gotta check the chart.... for e.g if your salinity is 1.020 your temperature has to be 28 and above.... for corals it has to have a higher salinity level..
  5. Just bought a bubble tip anemone from aquamarin today....I noticed that one of the 2 in the shop has some sort of small rock in the centre among their tentacles. So I bought the other one which doesn't have it, thinking it's something bad. However when I noticed it tonight it has the same sort of stuff in the middle? What on earth is that?
  6. i tried putting my blue tang in fresh water for 1-2 minutes to get rid of the ich...i noticed blackish bluish liquid coming out from its gills...any idea what that is?
  7. i soak my deep freeze krill in garlic before feeding them... i have bought a bottle of ich medication and put my blue tang in a pail to treat it... how long does it have to stay in there and dosing requirements?
  8. It was the latest addition to my tank....when I bought it it was in good condition...it may just have a little white spots in it...but I feed it with garlic guard...also after I do water changes the white spots seem to disappear....it comes back after awhile....one and off
  9. my blue tang keeps rubbing itself against my live rocks.... i have seen my cinnamon clownfish and yellow tang doing it but not that often.... my blue tang rubs it self against the gravel as well.... any ideal why?
  10. you do not really have to feed it... it will happily feed on the algae growing on your tank... i have 3 stars in my tank....they eat the left overs on my gravel bed...which is mainly small pieces of freeze dried krill.. alternatively you can try feedling them 5 in 1 coral food which has SeaPlankton in them...
  11. why does the outlet of my canister filter produce so many small bubbles into my tank...whenever i switch on my lights i see millions of micro bubbles.... help!!!!

  13. started using salt water last night...decided to change from sea water to salt water due to the lower bacteria levels.... normally i have to bubble my sea water 24-7..... i pre mixed my new salt water into my huge pail....do i have to bubble it 24-7 as well or could i just leave it stagnant for 1-2 months????
  14. hi reefers out there...i am looking for a 2nd hand chiller....due to tight budget constraints i would only be able to afford $150 for one....anyone out there has one to let go? my tank is 2 feet x 1.5 x 1
  15. i often have to choose between departing with a sum of money for either fish products/equipments...etc or buying other stuff... but often it goes to my marine hobby!!! remember patience is the key for this hobby!!! good luck!
  16. call hui shan at 91372290....it is $6 for about 6-8gallons....and on top they do a $10 delivery charge....
  17. skimmer is one of the most important factor in every marine tank....never try to save money on it.....go for the best one your budget can afford...i would suggest skimz...you can get it at am...for a 3 feet tank the smallest one will cost you around $200 (last i checked was $194) and you can place it in your sump.... although i am quite new to this hobby....what i have learnt is that patience is the key to having a good and rewarding marine tank...a matured tank can take up to 6 months to cycling properly... 1) place your live sand and live rocks 2) let your seawater run without anything in your tank for 1month to 6 weeks... test your water every 1-3 days....do a 50% change after the first week...then 25% subsequently 3) add in your cleaner invertebrates (turbo/margarita snails....shrimps...crabs...starfis....etc) if your water is alright your invertebrates will survive..... 4) add in your fishes....plan on what you want to get...some species will require to be introduced at the same time... 5) lastly corals...but you will definitely need a chiller for them!!!! buy an eheim canister for your filtration....(that is the LV brand for fish products) chiller: teco or arctica lighting: depends on what corals you have most important is your water quality...if your water is good...all will be good...
  18. recently i did a water change....i am using sea water so anti chlorine is fine.... however due to my high temperature at 28.5....i got to lower my salinity to 1.020-1.021.... that is when i realized i do not have any anti chlorine at home.... so i just added tap water but probably just equal amount to a pint..which is 0.125 gallons...and 0.473litres...will it affect my water or fishes??? and i also realized that when i add fresh water to top up evaporated water i often pour into my filter media...will it kill my good bacteria? please help...
  19. thanks.....i recently bought a canister filter. a jebo one as i am on budget...currently running on both overhead and canister so it will not shock my system.
