Hey guys I would like to share my plans on my 6 footer tank. It's going to be a very slow process and I'll keep this thread updated as much as I can. For now I'm still in the designing stage. The plan... 6ft by 2ft by 2ft Acrylic Tank Using 20mm thick Cast Acrylic all around. The picture is a diagram of the "planned" plumbing. Do let me know if you have any suggestion. By the time I actually drill the holes it wouold be about a month from now

The last time it happen to me was when I was on the computer playing games for hours late at night and I felt sea sick. Looked out the window and the building oppisite was moving. I felt everything was moving and I nearly vomited . I thought damm too much playing. But it was not me. The buildings were moving!!! It was the after shock tremmours in the eastern area some time back. Everyone rush down, people were screaming! Everyone down stairs were in their sleeping cloths. Hmm... interesting

WOW! What did I miss! One night didn’t log on. “Suck Club” That’s a good one! As for kschew1498, May I know what brand overflow box your using? There are some design flaws in some designs. I’m personally using 2 I~Box800 since December 2002. Never had to get rid of micro bubbles, flow was constant and no over flows at all. Only time I had to restart my I~Box was when I had to redo my whole tank. I’m using an Ehiem 1262 return pump and the flow is fast. There for ‘if’ any bubbles gets collected in the Siphon tube, it will get forced out. Some may ask, why am I not using the clear siphon tube. Answer is simple, algae growth. I’ve been to a LFS over seas and saw a Siphon over flow box using clear siphon tube. (picture attached) The LFS owner complained that he had to clean out the tube very often or it would slow the flow rate a lot. I’ve also done checks with guy from reef central in the US and they to changed their clear siphon tube to gray or white PVC. And they never had any problems.

I do fabricate acrylic tanks as well if your interested. Yes acrylic will scratch but you can remove the scratches. But for glass, once there is a scratch it is 'almost' impossible to remove them.

If you want to see the TRUE colors of the ricordea, use an acrylic tank. You will not regreat it!

Just a note. How does your sump bring water to your tank? If by a pump, then the water level changes will be in the pump chamber not your main tank. If your sump bring water to your main tank by gravity then its your main tank water level will change.

ryan is right. Your main tank level will change. Not the Sump.

Hi Nicky, I'm not using Yazids type. its another brand. I got it at Pasir Ris farm. Not sure whats the exact address. Sorry. The brand is funny. 'Jalli' But it feels solid and the cooling fan is in built.

I suggest if your going to use the I~Ref, i recommend you use Miracle Mud. I'm using 15lbs and I got over 25 fishes in my 422 and the Nitrates and Nitrites are ZERO! Could be other factors involved but it worked for me

I'm using 2 of these in my 422 tank. Pump I'm using a different brand. Cheap, low wattage and powerfull. You can break the flow using a modular hose split into 2.

Get it from an old speaker. The magnet is huge and powerfull! Go to any car audio shop and ask for a spoilt speaker they don't want. Break it apart and walah! BIG MAGNET!!!

Most importing thing I can advice you is too always remember this question. What if .......... ?

I just had some very upsetting news from a LFS owner that I thought I should share with you guys. As some of you know that I~Aqua is my baby and I design and sell acrylic products, and also promote the TUBBY allot with my setups. I've always maintained the pricing at $135. Even to my best friend I sold it to him at this price. I never gave a cent cheaper as this is not my product, it's cookiemonsters. Now the story... A guy walks into LFS and says that the TUBBY which the LFS is selling is expensive. He said he knows Ian (which is me) and can get it at $120.00 and as many as he wants. LFS owner was shocked and defended me knowing I would not do such a thing. The Owner told him to get it from Ian (me) then. The owner than called me to inform me about what has happened. If the guy is in this forum, please do not use and abuse my name and reputation, or for that sake, not anyone else's. I have not done anything wrong too you and if I did please let me know. You might just trying your luck to get a good discount but don't ruin people's name as a result of it. Thank You.
