  1. Update of my tank. A few addition.
  2. [lee, looks like yr tank has pretty much stablise. True, ric & blasto doing well but exp yuma do not. Probem with green & red algae as well. NO3 reduced with sugar but lazy to maintain.] I will be away now. So I will bid up to S$100.
  3. Do you have any specific tank requirement for the buyer to get this yuma ? I've only a 2.5ft tank w/o sump & only Actinic & PL. Have number of Ric & low cost yuma doing pretty well in my tank. But expensive Red, Pink yuma which I got previously never seem to do well; always melt away. I will bid for S$85 if you accept. P.S. don't PM 'not around, call HP: 96192273
  4. Probably the good old PH kit is better. I had used Hana and it is rather sensitive. My tap water here in Pasir Ris is >8. Once I tried by calibrating with a Ph 7 fluid in Iwarna, the cal fluid reads 7, the 2 display tanks read 7.9 & 8.1 and some of the other tanks with fish read from 7.4 - 7.9
  5. My Sun Coral after a meal of frozen Cylopeeze (recommended by a reefer here); very responsive.
  6. My tank update. Sorry for the reflection. Have not been getting new stock for a while, only a rock of yuma.
  7. I was using a Resun 280CL for my 2.5" tank at a set temp of 26C and it was practically kicking in/out every 5-10 min with my setup. These had been experienced by quite a no. of reefers. To save cost I did what you did. I put in a timer and adjusted for a total chiller operation time of about 12 hours; i.e more during the hot afternoon period. And yes, my tank temp did flucuated quite a bit but for 2 years it does not seem to effect my mostly LPS as much. The saving on the PUB bill I thought is more than the lost on the frequent compressor start/stop and expected life of the chiller. My chiller is still working but 4 months back I changed to a Resun 650 because of the 'quietness' & supposely more power and less kick-in/out. I was wrong (maybe my setup is incorrect), the CL650 still kick in/out about every 15 min (thought should be greater than 2 hrs) and my PUB bill balloned to an extra S$40 every month. Then I found out quite a no of reefers had similar problem and they did some modification (adding ext temp controller) and managed to improved the kick in/out by quite a bit. I had not did the modification yet but I knew the frequent kick in/out of the chiller does not translate to an actual tank temp change but likely due to the design of the Resun 650. The tank temp still hold at 26C even after the chiller kick out for more than an hour. Hence I put back my Timer again and yes my PUB bill return to normal. My LS are not stress as much as the last time when using the 280CL as the current 650 is more than sufficient to hold the temp long enough. This I will do until I solve the problem of the frequent chiller kick in/out.
  8. Yes, went to both Fast cable & Suntronics. Their cannot work also. I do not want to spend S$400 just for the port replicator
  9. Hi, Got a new notebook & realised does not come with a normal Centronic 25 pin female ECP parallel port. I need a true parallel port to attach a Security Key (Dongle key) for my software. Going around Funan & Sim Lim and managed to find some (S$35-S$55) but testing it all will not work. Seem like it work only for parallel printer. When attached to USB on notebook XP indicates a new device & installed automatically but in Device Manager ; port setting showed no parallel port. Had tested another one from US (S$170) also does not work. Anyone any idea where to get a correct one. One way is to get a port replicator with built-in parallel port but it cost more than S$400. Thanks.
  10. From Taiwan, school of fancy flourescene GM fish
  11. Hi, Sorry if I disturbed your sale here. Just brought a new 4-Fan system (same Ocean Free) for S$15 this afternoon and the 6-Fan system is going for S$ 19. Tiny 2w air pump going for S$2, small hang-on filter from S$3-S$7 and many other offers from the shop oppsite Sentosa Marine. Think they are clearing out most of their stock. No more marine as well.
  12. Felt in Pasir Ris as well. Probably about 30 sec.
  13. Maybe you want to read this; it work for me. "The Sugar Method" http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...opic=29276&st=0 For your tank size I suggest adding 3 teaspoons per day for 3 days, then reduce to 2 teaspoons and subsequently to 1 teaspoon or less. Make sure you monitor your PH level not to let it drop too low. The NO3 will remain low as long as you regularly add in the sugar. For me I had reduced it to about 1/2 teaspoon twice a week to maintain a NO3 of less than 15ppm. Try it, don't think there is much harm considering yours is mostly fish.
