hi ...i am new and my tank cycle for 4 weeks with a clownfish inside the tank.. recently realise the live rock is getting "hairy" and the live sand is having a patches of brownish particle....may I know is that algae or ? Must I do something to remove that ? Add some snails ?

is there anyway to find out when will LFS bring in snowflake clownfish ? thru their Facebook or ?

I am new to marine fish...and just finish cycling my tank... when i started this hobby, I drop by one LFS at Jalan Selaseh...to take a look at how much is the clownfish and the tank...very disappointed with the sales staff there....told me the common clownfish they selling is $12 for one fish...and the Nano tank they selling online at $120...she quoted me $190... Will never ever step into that shop again...

i understand that to pair two clown...i need to get one bigger one with a smaller one.. but then how to prevent the smaller one from being killed by the bigger one ? There's no way I can stop them because when I got back from work, the smaller one is almost dead.....

Bought two common clownfish at $1 each in pasir ris..... Saw them happily swimming together on the first two days.. One is extraordinary active whereas the other is very timid and always staying at one corner...Occasionally the lightly bigger one will go and "disturb" the other but not really creating any damage... On the third day....when i got back from work...saw the smaller one..behaving strange..and notice the side of the body is bitten by the larger one and dying... The larger one still continue to attack it and bite it when i am trying to find out what's wrong with the small one.. THIS FISH IS CRAZY!

hi ...i'm got a nano tank that cycle for just two weeks...thinking of putting carol in it too but according to some article..tank will be ready for carol only after 6 months at least ? true ? A tank without chiller, will the carol be able to survive ?

Hi all...very new to this hobby...tank still cycling.. a chiller is a must if i wanted to keep carol in the nano tank ? may I know which chiller you guys using for your nano tank with carol ?

Thanks bro for replying.. yes...the white particles only appear after two weeks... some of these white particles are some sort of organism populated on the glass...more and more which i suppose it is good ? but whereas the rest...look more like dust or some other stuff..not sure what's that how to get crystal clear water ? Must I add some other filtration to the existing ? I do have live rocks and live sand in the tank.. in that case, I can wash the filter without much concern on the bacteria establish on the filter pad ? Washing of filer must be done using RO/DI water ?

Hi All.. I'm very new to this hobby. Bought an Ocean 34L nano tank and doing the cycling now...close to around 2 weeks plus.. But realise there's some white small particle in the tank especially when the LED is turn on.. Not living organism.. I'm not sure where they came from but I suspect the filter is dirty. I saw in some article mention about cleaning filter will affect the good bacteria that's formed in the filter. In such case, how can I clean the filter to get rid of those particle ?
