  1. What has brand name got to do with it???
  2. There is nothing that is necessary or unnecessary...having a refugium will have its own set of merits; 1) Economical way of nutrient export for nitrogenous and phosphorous materials (when the macro algae establish itself, you must also prune it) 2) A haven for critters and pods to establish safely 3) A good acclimatising place for new additions
  3. Yeah plus 2 golden neon somemore, previous 2 died on me in my 3ft, these 2 are doing fine in my 4ft. The King is establishing itself in the tank already in just 2 days.
  4. Doesn't look like T5 leh...
  5. Which is your favourite ? I kept quite a few types and my favourite have to be the Passer Angel - King Angel.
  6. Paradiz Reef having SPS and LPS shipment tomorrow morning...for those that have no luck at Irwana, maybe you can try your luck tomorrow.
  7. Lotsa Queen Angels (nice colouration), Small and Medium sized Passer Angels (Juv. colouration) beautiful !, 2 Nice sized scribbled Angels, lotsa Brazillian Grammas, golden neon goby (selling fast), French Angels, Flameback Angels and others in sealife.
  8. The top control valve, controls the drip/flow rate of the effluent. It will be good to install a one-way check valve to prevent backflow in instance of power failure, where this will cause the release of water in the containment to the sump (if used in-sump). This water being released to the sump should be ok, but the empty containment with the bacteria may die off causing sudden spike. Hope it helps.
  9. Ok thank you, not too good to keep then...
  10. Should be ok...they are very hardy though and should last for a very long time...
  11. Whats the life span of the harlequin shrimp may i ask?
  12. Try feeding it with peanut butter, they love it...brought back a few dozens from maldives before too hehehheh
  13. The good thing about this design is that - when placed in the sump, it draws the sump water directly from below where the pump is located, thus it do away with the need for a dosing pump. Even when used outsump, you can fix the piping works to draw water from the sump into the unit.
  14. No problem lah, believe you made the right choice yourself...think Tangs will agree too...
  15. This dimming is useful ! i always shudder when the lights suddenly goes off, afraid the fish frighten and jump into the overflow box !
  16. Wah...the price difference that much? I thought they have that IKS try out or something in the UK (free trying) and thereafter you can purchase it if you like it. Aquatronica seems more bearable for me in terms of cost. This hobby really expensive ! Just purchase a fridge that cost S$1400 and had wanted to purchase another skimmer of the similar pricing - i paused for a moment when i think of a pump and a container that produce bubbles for S$1300+ ! better DIY.
  17. Pardon me for my ignorance, but which is italian and which is german?
  18. Looks like the choice is obvious...may try to get it with the tunze skimmer from Janet, hope can have greater savings...
  19. Jervis, me a little too lazy to read it all up, it will be most wonderful if you will be able to distinguish the functions from that of the IKS (believe you might have read that up before deciding). Thanks
  20. Harrah & Sun pulls out 3 left...
  21. Anymore other products...believe there is aplenty...
