  1. Hi all, recently acquired a 6 line wrasse and discovered some shiny white spots on it while in Qt. Suspecting ich, I did some reading up and transferred it to a small tank with some containers for hiding and slowly lowered salinity to 1.009 as recommended online. I did it via slow drip over 5 days. In between, I sucked up the mucus it produces and also changed 10% water. Here's some pics However, I'm starting to worry because the fish is obviously stressed because of the new environment and hasn't been eating. I'm worried it might starve to death before treatment is complete. Any advice from bros here please? Am I doing something wrong? I'm following guidelines I found online so I'm worried info may not be very accurate. Thanks a bunch! Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  2. Just got these suns. Are they super suns or just another species of normal sun? They look quite different from my current ones Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  3. Hope it's not bleaching but that does look a bit too white. For a small tank I think 30-40% white is enough... For my 2ft I don't dare go beyond 40%. Can your lights be dimmed? Gsp is hard to kill even in low light but too high light can destroy everything. Even my unkillable mushroom died under high light Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  4. Invertebrates like higher salinity. So if you want can just keep around 1.025 - 1.026 like Willy suggested. I keep mine 1.024 only because I like more buffer in case of too much evaporation if my ATO fails. I've seen neglected tanks reach 1.030 with no livestock issue as well. But probably not a good idea lol Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  5. Honestly I also did the same, just bought a bunch of live rock and put it in. I transported it without water so I assumed some die off would occur anyway and kick-start the cycle. Then just let it run for a month, started testing when I saw aesterina stars appearing then put in my first fish when parameters seemed ok. No issues there. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  6. Nice tank bro. I also have clicking sounds but it's pistol shrimp hiding in the sand instead of the rock. Maybe try stirring up suspected areas of the sand bed? But probably not too much in case of messing up nitrate levels Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  7. Forgot to add, they were in my office tank so I literally saw them jump out, had to put them back a few times. In the end 1 died of stress while the other became dried ikan bilis even when I put a cover... It jumped out of a small gap and onto the cover itself... Never had gobies again until I swopped the damsel for a clown. Now I have 2 red candy cane gobies in the same tank, they don't jump because I put one huge rock in between them and the clown. The clown stays on the left side, hosting an elegance coral while the gobies hide at the bottom of the right side. So far so good, no ikan bilis cases after 2 weeks Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  8. Gobies are naturally more jumpy than other fish and any aggressive fish will push them too far. I'm guessing it's your wrasse or your clown chasing them. I had 2 watchmen Gobies jump from all the way from the sandbed to out of a 1.5 foot tall tank because my damsel was chasing them. Don't forget that clowns are a type of damsel too Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  9. From discussions on another thread, one of the bros here found success by spraying the holes with extra cold freshwater. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  10. My contribution... Lol. I assume this bristleworm is not really harmful Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  11. Pistol shrimp given away. Dumped the rest into my mantis tank. Eunice worm still isolated. Still not sure if it's a Bobbit worm Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  12. Hi guys, quick question. I bought a healthy sized elegance from a nice bro about few weeks back and it's doing well in my nano. It was slightly more than palm sized when open. Then I recently added a clown who very happily hosted it almost immediately. I have had the clown for a few weeks and suddenly I noticed my elegance has grown to a monster size. Now it's easily almost 1 foot long.... [emoji33] After observing the tank, I realised my clown is sharing food with it every day!! I'm guessing that's why the elegance suddenly grew so huge. Will this be a problem? I'm worried that the accidental daily feeding will kill the coral instead. Should I remove my overly friendly clown? Thanks for the advice! Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  13. Is that a torch that's receding? I also have a dying torch. Still don't know the reason. Have you tried feeding it? Mine didn't respond to food and just continued to waste away Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  14. That's a monster sized elegance bro. Nice [emoji106] Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  15. That's a monster sized elegance bro. Nice [emoji106] Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  16. I use a tunze 6025 to mix my salt. Just aim at the bottom of the pail. Churns like crazy, salt mixed within ten mins. Even water crusted salt chunks were successfully dissolved Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  17. Nice setup bro. Your DIY info is very helpful. Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  18. Hey bro if you want to breed pods, no need to specially use chaeto. My pods are currently breeding well in a small HOB refugium with a bit of caulerpa and galaxia macroalgae inside. Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  19. Pistol shrimp reserved. The rest still up over the weekend, after that i will dump them into my mantis shrimp tank, see if he wants to makan them... lol
  20. Forgot to add, some random tiny 1 cm wide crabs as well. Will take pics when I can Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  21. Hi all, have caught some hitchhikers in my live rock. Giving away to anyone who happens to be interested. Deal in either woodlands after work, or clementi at night 1 Eunicid worm (not sure if bobbit worm, but definitely from the Eunice family). Bugger is still hiding inside the rock, had to isolate the whole rock A few pink bristleworms And finally, a nice candy cane colored pistol shrimp about 1 inch in size Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  22. Any large rocks with huge holes? Maybe it's a bobbit worm eating your fish? Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  23. Hey bro, for urchins (in my experience) i wouldn't recommend unless you glue everything down. My cute urchins knocked over my coral frags like bulldozers and even dragged them around on their spines by mistake. Also note that they actually will strip ALL algae, including coraline algae on the live rocks... They stripped my nice purple coraline algae rocks back to squeaky clean white lol I think snails are the safest bet for now. I see you have Nassarius for under the sand and turbo for rocks/glass. Can consider Sera snail for top of sand to clear cyano as well My coral banded shrimp are quite calm, maybe because they're paired and also intimidated by my false clowns in the tank haha
  24. Hey bro, I remember that small LFS at the basement of plaza singapura used to sell land hermits in those kind of shells. Not sure if they still have it now Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
