  1. Just want to know where did you buy your blue tang from? Been looking for a blue tang of that size but the farms at PR only had the huge ones. Also where did you get the seaweed food too?
  2. Hi, nice setup you have there. Just want to ask how your computer fans are powered. Via 2 pin plug, or connected to the computer? If its connected via 2 pin plug, how did you convert the fans? Also noticed you are not using a durso. Hope the sound would be minimal.
  3. Here is the address, it is the beside a bicycle shop. Blk 482, #01-230, Tampines St 43. S(520482) Some of the tanks were still empty, others contained some fishes that were not in good shape. I was in a hurry so I just asked the owner how much a green bubble coral cost. (palm sized) and he told me $60. The white bubble coral next to it (same size) he said it was $48. Note that both the corals are not the mini bubble coral kind. As I dont know much about corals, I wonder if it is overpriced? Was kinda taken aback when he told me $60 as I expected it to be $40+ the most. Anyway any reefers staying in Tampines can drop by to give more reviews?
  4. Sorry, typo. I read somewhere before that it is NOT the Nitrates that kills the fish instead of Nitrites. Do a water change to reduce the Nitrates.

  6. So did you get anything at the PR farms on Tuesday?
  7. Ah Concas!! I love that place! Too bad I last heard that it has closed down.
  8. I think it is an internal power filter, which is a filter with a powerhead.
  9. As requested, a picture of my tank. Going for a shallow reef effect. Picture taken a few months ago.
  10. The main tank is 3x1.5x1.5ft I have DIYed an overflow pipe using PVC pipings.
  11. No offense, but how about doing some research before you ask questions that can be found by searching through the forums? Anyway, nice tank you have there, I would recommend you use a cannister filter at least.
  12. One flaw of my sump design is that I forgot to include a partition between the skimmer and return pump. As such my skimmer cannot maximise its work because of the water level fluctuation.
  13. Hi, just want to share a picture of my DIY sump for those who need some ideas to DIY their sump. The small tank on the right is my refugium, its concepts which I have followed from bro shoelevy. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...24343&st=30&hl= All pipings were DIYed including a T-joint to pump water back into the sump if needed.
  14. I have personally seen this tank before while dining there. It has 4 identical tanks perpendicular with each other. Used to be more impressive if I can remember.
  15. Blueheaven, there are many marine tanks in your area, because I've seen quite a number of them. If I'm not wrong, the tank belongs to a member called Seng if I can remember correctly.
  16. If you look closely, there is a small pump at the left corner of the tank. It's used to create some aeration for the water. As for water change, the place where I caught them from is already polluted so in my opinion my clean tank conditions would kill them instead! I only changed water once a month. I fed the crabs and mudskippers with small pieces of frozen fish and flakes. The mudskippers help themselves to the small longkang fishes as well. Not planning to set up another tank as the tank is now used as my sump. If you want we can meet up sometime to catch crabs at Pasir Ris as I've never tried catching there before though I stay around there.
  17. To make the tank look better, you can use mangrove shoots instead. The plants I took from the pond all died so I used bamboo shoots. Last pic of my tank. Unfortunately this tank has been shut down long time ago when I have to move house.
  18. Since the treadstarter doesnt mind, I'll most a couple more pics or so... The inhabitants of the tank includes mudskippers, crabs, pond gobies, and those longkang fishes. Here is a shot of my mudskipper!
  19. Not going to post more pics as its really but one more picture of an unknown goby I caught. Only know the layman name 'Pond Goby'
  20. Another picture of my mangrove tank. This picture was in its initial stages when taken.
  21. Hi, I did not get them from pasir ris. Caught them in a mangrove like area near a storm drain. The place has been destroyed to make way for new buildings.
  22. Thanks for the info maxstar, I thought it was the same species as it also has a bigger claw.
  23. I've caught and kept them in my mangrove tank before. Really interesting creatures.
