  7. My tank is around 6 months old bro. I just ended my fallow period on 1 aug so dump all the quartile fishes into the main tank..haha..learnt my lesson that sps don’t like too many changes at once [emoji23][emoji23] but they r recovering now though. It is a good sign Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  8. I might be too. I am using salifert to test the nitrate and phosphate btw. I think there are too many changes in that period. Chiller thermoset spoiling, adding fishes then changing intensity of light. I think next time must relax abit. Hahha
  9. Yea, I guess it is the intensity and the temperature swings that might have caused it. Have tried dipping twice but cannot find any Monti eating nudibranch too. I m gonna properly leave it alone for a few weeks and low the light intensity. Thank for the suggestion bro! Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  10. Hi, Can i seek the help of seasoned reefers to enlighten me on what could be wrong with my corals? Is there any sps eating parasites that i do not know of? For the past few days some of my sps are bleaching in patches and i could not figure out why. The water parameters are stable with nitrate a little over at 25ppm and phosphate at 0.1ppm. The green monti frag has been with me for arond 3 months, it started having patches bleaching but the pocci & red monti seem not to be affected. Forest fire have been doing great until recently , it started to bleach in patches too. The green birdnest does not seem to be affected. These are also not in very good shapes too. I am kinda at loss of what to do. All the rest of the LPS & zoas seem fine and happy. Not sure if these changes below could be the causes of sps to bleach or is there any parasites that can causes SPS to bleach in patches: 1) On 1 aug, my chiller internal thermostat malfunctioned and the tank temperature was fluctuating around 26 - 30 degree for a few days 2) on 1 aug, I also added 8 fishes that has been quarantined for a month, 1 radiant wrasse, 1 yellow tang, 1 blue tang, 1 sailfin tang, 1 black blenny, 1 goby, 1 chromis 3) on 1 aug, i increased the intensity (radion) of white and warm light from 3% to 10% for better viewing but had since tone down the light intensity after i discover the sps bleaching in patches. Any advice will be appreciated as i could not figure out what went wrong....Thank in advance!

  13. In my understanding velvet could kill a fish very fast ( much faster than ich) and ph seem to be abit on the low side. My tank was infested with velvet 3mths ago too and I just added my quarantine fishes yesterday night. It was a tough 3mths if fallow period. How is your other fishes doing btw ? 16. Hi I will like to seek some advice from the pro reefers out there. My tank is 4 feet IOS fish tank and IOS part take up 200cm so effectively I only need to light up 100cm of the tank. Ultimately my end goal is to have a mixed reef tank. Right now I m left with 1x Radion xr15 G4 running and thinking whether to add another radion G4 XR15 or G4 XR30 instead? Thanks a million in advance for the advice! [emoji1317] Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

  19. Hi, I will like to get some ideas from fellow experienced reefers about ways to mount the Radion light that i purchased recently for my fish tank. My fish tank is 4 feet with reinforced glass as seen in the picture below, so the length is not quite enough for the mount to be mounted securely on the glass and i do not want to drill my ceiling to hang the light. Therefore, i have made a small DIY aryclic rack to support the weight of the light so for past two weeks it is working fine so far. However, it sure is very ugly and it is a eyesore to look at. I am thinking of waiting after the CB period to have a small aryclic rack custom made as the one i do it myself is quite sloppy with limited tools on hand. This is the best solution i could think of now but if there are better ideas from fellow reefers to boost the aesthetic as well as able to hold the light securely it will be wonderful!
  20. Hi all SRC memebers, i am pretty new in this reef hobby and will like to share my story to get some opinion and at the same time participate in "Stay home, stay safe reef at home contest". I have been in fresh water hobby for a few years and recently took interest in reef tank at the mid of year 2019. To be honest, the learning curve was indeed very steep and mistakes are made along the way. My very first saltwater tank bought form LFS at chinatown with a cute porcupine puffer (Dead now though). I will like to share some mistakes that i had encountered along the way. Mistake 1: Do take advises from LFS with a pinch of salt. Always do your research and do not make purchases on impuluse. Mistake 2: Not cycling the tank properly and putting livestocks after three days as told by LFS. Mistake 3: The All-in-one top filter tank, which i learnt later that it is not sufficient to handle bioload from the fishes ( I have live rocks inside at that point but in the pic i have removed it because i am bringing it over to new tank) Mistake 4: Gravel. Trap debris like crazy and major contribution to the ammonia spike that wipe out the entire tank. Mistake 5: 2 feet tanks is just too small to have porcupine puffer (They poop alot!) Since then, i begin to research, read and watch videos extensively before starting on my new tank. I have since upgraded my fish tank ( 4 feet IOS tank) and invested a little more in hope of reaching my goal of having my dream reef tank. started from a FOWLR tank but slowly working towards mixed reef tank. FOWLR tank with beamswork Hi-lumen light in Dec 2019. At one point, we have this magic clean feather duster looking thing (Dead now though) but we still could not figure out what it is. so if any of the kind members could help us to identify what it is, it will be great! Fast forward to now, i am slowly trying to convert to mixed reef tank (Trying to keep a few frag alive) and my latest set up as below: Equipment: Spartan DC 4300 return Pump (Fairly decent for the price) Bubble magus C3.5 Skimmer Jebao crossflow wave pump 120 HS-28A chiller 1 x Radion XR 15 G4 Lumini Pixie 150 My current lifestocks are: 2 x 1.5 inch porcupine puffer fish 2 x Common clownfish 1 x Foxface rabbit fish 1 x sandshifting goby I have bought a quite a number of different species of fishes over the last few months but none of the managed to survive over 2 weeks except those guys. I thought they were killed by ich but with much researching i had recently learnt that most of them are killed due to marine Velvet. Right now i am trying to set up a quarantine tank to let the tank go fish-less during this CB period in hope to eliminate the ich as well as marine velvet. Lastly i will like to show my gratitude to fellow senior reefers who has given me a few coral frags to try out. Really appreciate it! I hope for the best! Stay home and stay safe!
