  2. Hi, I'm looking into aquiring either a Majestic or a Queen. Understand these fishes do not do well in the long term and poor diet is a key reason. Also read that they need food with high sponge content. Anyone knows what are these sponge-rich food and where can these be bought? Thanks!
  3. Selling: 1) One bottle of Omega One Marine Pellets - used about 10% over one week 2) One bottle of New Life Spectrum - only one pinch used (less than 1%) One bottle (either one) for $5.00 Take both bottles for $9.00 Collection either at Katong area (after office hours) or habourfront area (office hours). Pls don't post here or PM. Just SMs/call 91115030 (will reply only tomorrow - going to bed!) Cheers!
  4. Its a sure-fire conversation piece in the tank. Would like to add one if possible. My current tank inhabitants are: blue-throat trigger, picasso trigger, goldstripe maroon clown, spotted hawkfish & cuban hog. What do you guys think? Will a baby clown trigger murder anyone of them? Am also keen to add a queen angel in future.
  5. Used to have a queen. Beautiful fish - gets my vote. Will want to try again when the bank account balances. Question: What do you feed your large angels to ensure they get all-round nutrition? Read that sponges is an important food group for it - is there any commercially available food loaded with sponge matter, or specifically for angels? Thanks
  6. Didn't expect to see a thread on blue-throats! I've got a male. Great feeder, always out in the open. Has been in the tank for about 3 mths now. Thinking of adding a female. Questions: 1) will there be any wars between the two if I add a female now? (I also have a small picasso - about 3cm. The blue-throat is ~ 7cm 2) is there any good reason to have a male and female to begin with? will they pair up automatically? will they be seen swimming around together? 3) last week, I was waving a piece of shrimp held by feeding tongs above the water level. Was trying to ensure all my carnivores get their fair share. The blue-throat spit water at the shrimp! The water was spit as much as 10cm above water level. Is this natural? I know fishes are known to do this to bring their prey down but not sure if blue-throats behave this way in the wild? Thanks!
  7. Earth, I've had my cuban hog for about 5 mths now. Its an aggressive feeder and will grab food out of the feeding tong or my fingers. Its even more aggressive than my blue-throat trigger but is no match for the picasso in the food grabbing game. Suggest you feed it more meaty stuff. I feed mine with dried seaweed (yes, this guy eats veggie too!) and pellets on one day then switch to market shrimps and cuttlefish/squid the next day. About twice a week, I will also offer mysis. All my fish (cuban hogfish, blu-throat trigger, picasso trigger, goldstripe marron, spotted hawkfish and foxface) love this menu! Cheers

  13. Hi, I'm looking for a Sohal Tang and Picasso Trigger to live in my semi-aggressive tank. I need small ones - the smaller the better - and they must be feeding on commercial food. If you are interested in selling - pls SMS 91115030. Pls do not post here or PM as I do not visit the site regularly. Thanks!
  14. I've both the black cuke and a sand dollar (~ 6cm diameter) in my 3x2x2. Between the two, I'd say the cuke does a better job keeping the sand clean. My children described the sand dollar a road maker - that's what it does, it creates these highways on the sand surface when it moves around. However, I would not recommend the sand dollar. Unfortunately, made a mistake of not readng up first - found out a sand dollar of the size I have will need at least 6 sq ft of sand surface to keep alive (not counting the area where you hae rocks)!
  15. Looking for Picasso Trigger, the smaller the better & Juv Emperor Grateful if you would let me know if you spot any, pls. Thanks
  16. Hi, I'm keen to add a Picasso in my FOWLR. However I have a black sea cuke. If I get the smallest Picasso I can find (like no larger than 2 cm), is there any chance it may make a meal out of the cuke? I want to keep the cuke as it does a great job keeping the sand clean. Have read somewhere that a captive small trigger fed on prepared food is less likely to be a livestock eater as it grows. Thanks for helping!
