  1. im doing great bro....getting fatter all the time though..... yeah, i wanted to recommend kwong lim too. my tank was done by them. just give them a drawing and your requirements and they will do it for you. good rates too. only thing is that they take quite awhile to finish.
  2. eh bro! remember me? hehe....so long didn't hear from you. how come you changing your tank again?
  3. hey, thanks for the link ....i checked it out already..... they have 1 that is that is 8 feet long, 15.5 inch tall and 5.5 inch deep, so i guess its doable. thank for the offer aquabeAnz! i really appreciate it, but i don't think i can afford something like that right now....sure to cost a bomb. plus im planning to link it to my current tank. should be able to handle the extra bioload and water volumn, since im using an oversized skimmer and chiller, together with ozone and orp controller. wall tank itself would not have any equipment inside, except for a powerhead. not planning to have any corals, just some live rock and lots of reef unsafe fishes.....triggers, angels, wrasses, tiny frogfish, something like that. anyone has a tank like that? i would love to come over and study how it works....
  4. reborn just came in lots of fishes. wrasses, damsels, butterflies, angels....but seem to struggle a little.....maybe still acclimatising to the water
  5. piang oi!! i have no idea what you mean man.......but thanx anyway. im not worried about the brackets that hold the tank on the wall. im more worried about the wall. my house is those really old 3 room flat, so im not sure what type of bricks separate my neighbour and i. if its hollow blocks, then i think a 8 feet long and 4 inch deep tank will definitely crack the bricks. anyone here has a similar tank to what im thinking?
  6. its suppose to be my feature wall. a few cast iron brackets will hold the aquarium tight, but im not sure if the wall can take the weight or not. i like my neighbour, but i don't want to wake up and see his face next mine leh....
  7. i thought about it, but the bad news is that i share that particular wall with my neighbour.....
  8. hi guys, i know the title is slightly obscene.....but does anyone know what is the heaviest load i can hang on the wall? im thinking of a fowlr that is 8 or 10 ft long, 7 inches tall and 4 inches in depth. thanks! henry something like this picture i scanned from a magazine
  9. I WANT TO WIN IAN'S ACRYLIC TANK!!!! rest of you don't compete ok? that way i can win all three of them.....hehe
  10. hi bros, sad to say, my wrought iron stand is starting to rust really badly. does anyone know where i can get cheap custom made wrought iron stand? i got some tips about how to rust proof it from bruce (may&bruce). going to try it next and post here. so let me know if you have any lobang for good and cheap stands ok? thanks guys! henry
  11. got.....like the last story about doggies..... somemore i promoted to hermit crab already...
  12. yah, im curious too....how come im always the last to know all the really weird things in src.... is the person ca............?
  13. hi all, i was just reading through the thread again, and its quite obvious that this competition will not come to fruition without the intervention of a moderator or at. i will pm them and ask for their assistance. i will ask if they can put a sticky in the main forum, so more of us are aware of this....sort of like a new catergory where competitors can post updates and other stuff. if we want to get a sizeable group, we have to be more patient. let it build up momentum, or burn out on its own. no point having hobbes and me compete with just each other..... also, i don't think that we can bank on anyone sponsoring us.....sad but true....most probably we will have to come up with the stuff ourselves. in the mean time, how about we set some boundaries? the easiest and best way to start this competition is to set as few rules as possible. in fact, i suggest that the only limit be the size of one's tank. everything else, whatever floats your boat. so here goes (feel free to edit ok?) 1) size of tank under 10 gals, any shape 2) any equipment you can afford or already have 3) any livestock suitable to nano life as for prizes for the winners, my gut feeling is that we should not use money as a reward, like i have mentioned before. but i do expect the winner to get more exposure, if its agreeable to at and the moderators. of course im not complaining if bio ocean sponsors some fancy equipments.....hehehe i can sponsor a tub of haagen daz ......rum raisin....winner come and pick it up from my home anytime, and have a cold one on the house as well. no need to set grading criteria....whatever the judges say, counts. if im not wrong, nanos always require pruning due to the lack of space. health and aesthetics are more important, i think. we can trust the moderators and at to be professional, discerning and impartial (provided they agree to judge)
  14. naxo's tank! thats my favourite man. it inspired me to do my 1.5 cube. shiok shiok http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/nov2004/aquarium.htm i don't think we need a committee....maybe if the moderators and at can consent to be our judges. let me think a little more and i will post here tonight.
  15. eh bro, whats that? how does it work? thanks! henry
  16. hey hobbes, by 6.5 gal, do you mean US or UK 6.5? thanks bro
  17. hey guys, check out this nano in rc. its made of starphire. i was thinking about us getting tanks like this. if we make a 1 ft cube diamant nano, it will cost us less than $100. hehe...quite cool leh. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.p...25&pagenumber=1 what you think? worth it or not?
  18. heyyy.....this is a great idea! my suggestion is that the nano be a real nano. somethiing like below 10 gal. maybe a 1 ft cube? the smaller the better.....for one thing, theres a lot less space to scape, so skill in making the tank look pleasing becomes very important. equipments generally do not have to be very expensive to take care of such a small tank. something like a weipro and power compacts and a diy auto top up are more than enough. i think that thats the only limitation that we need. lights and equipment and sumps and livestock and husbandry are all up to the individual. also, im in agreement with allowing the nano to be linked to other tanks. i love marine life, but if i were to get even more equipments, my wife is going to skin me alive. hahaha.....it might be an advantage, or maybe not.....i sure wouldn't link up my nano to a fowlr tank crammed with tangs and toher poop factories. I don't think prizes are important, but maybe AT might consent to allow the winner and runner ups to have a permanent link on this forum, sort of like a pinned up featured aquarium thing. maybe a pinned up thread with a title like THE BEST NANO IN SRC... i think in this case recognition is more rewarding than monetary awards. what do you guys think?
  19. eh! don't anyhow abish ok! ultraman is cartoony what! hehehe now that i think about it, they look a bit homo-ish wrestling with horny monsters in tight latex.
  20. nice! wow, the first post in this sub forum.....i wonder if this bro is still around....and what happen to his tank...
  21. 旋风小飞侠 the last time i watched it was more than 20 years ago. i used to pester my mom to buy me one of those little msg-loaded snack packets which had a little figurine of 小飞侠 wrapped in plastic inside. for some reason, i thought having beak shaped hats and billowing cloaks were the epitome of coolness hey you guys remember those cheesy commercials of a small box of round chocolate balls and a small toy car that comes with it? i can't remember the name, but it always looked like its damn fun on tv. something like Taro Taro!....
  22. i love src..... haha, im just trying to kp since i don't know anyone here....lets just live and let live. alanseah already said he made a mistake.....maybe we don't agree on what mistake it is, but theres no need to keep pestering him (or weilong, for that matter). no condemnation, no casting of stones..... on the same note, i have to say that weilong is really a friend, to stand up for alan in public. it would have been so much easier to keep quiet. if push comes to shove, i would do the same too. of course i may righteously ream him a new hole in private, but i would certainly defend him in public.
  23. for those who are married, make more love. i read it before somewhere, maybe readers digest or something. hey, anyone wanna guess my bmi? its pretty scary. henry
  24. can you gyus provide a little more information about the lff? im really curious....maybe a link or something.....thanks!! henry
