ya... it does. i will have to add in water every other day (at my room toilet). anyway, i keep those rocks at 1.023. this rock still have some caroline algae. those rocks was from my sps tank years ago. you can still find me in my past tank thread if you like to take a look. started this hobbit since 2003. after decom due to time factor and i thought i will come back to this hobbit again (that is why i till keep those rock so that i can have a quick start of the new tank if i want to) but i can't cos i still travel around. i am moving house to edgedale plain. pls let me know if you can take it from me tonight. my contact: 97668307.

no la... those two pc are still with me after my decom. it has seat on my pile with air-pump since then. thought that i can use it again if i wanna restart. goodness, time fly. the rocks has been with me for more then 5 yrs since 2003. the rock is mid-size (not the very large pc). am trying to get the picture load with my iphone but cant.

you are right. i have this cysnobacteria problem on my LR and burn sps and lps for a whole year. I kept a good discipline in maintain my alk at 7.5. pass this discipline on from my zeovit system. the burn tips i mentioned is not just on the end tip. it is the tips side of the body. i can't explain that. too discourage to take any picture then. it is just that after the side tips of it body burn, cyno will take over and cover the burn area. as for dosing, i have to check my record. i remember i dose it everyday. p04 and n03 was in checked. my tank volume was 90g. as for the test kit, i used salifert.

i don't have the data... kept sps for years. i tried out vodka before i used zeovit system and than used vodka again for a long period of time. my P04 and N03 were undetectable after used of vodka as compare with zeovit system. and the colour of my sps was awasome (you can check my old tank thread). my corals were healthy and all my sps grow real fast. i have to frag it almost once in 2 weeks. just one fine day (as usual, nothing change... no additional of things, all parameters within it specs), within a week, 1/3 of my sps experienced burned on it tips and it turned darken after that it started to RTN from the tips. in fact, it can still hold in this condition for a month with this condition till it totally die. no matter how much water change done... all parameters within it spec and still, one by one all my sps experience burn on it tips, darken and then RTN from there. so, decided to sell the rest of my sps to save them. after that, all my lps also suffer the same fate. all my acans gone within a month. i cleared up all my sps and lps and just keep fish with LR for a period of one year. just hope that i can reset the whole system. after a year of break, i tried out sps again. and i can never have it survive in my tank for a week. same issue, it started to get burn on it tips and then RTN from there onward. at first i thought may be my mag gave some problem or off spec. checked all my parameters, everything is within it spec. my cal reactor till running strong even without any corals for a year. i thought may be my system needs sometime. stop dosing anything. just gave it a break. just keep my system run for another 6 months and try again. i started collect of zoa after that. at the same time, i tried out monti. however, i can never be able to hold it for more than 2 weeks this time. it got burn on it tips and then RTN from there onward. i only used zeovit system for a short period of time. dosing of vodka was the longer. this experience is just base on my personal experience and encounter. may not true to anybody. joe_p, you started sps longer then i am. i am sure you have much experience in it.

when are you starting your sps? your BK skimmer is more than enough for your tank.

it is not childish. it is that i am very much amazing with the deep of the understand and knowledge you now have. so much better than me. i have to re-learn and re-start all over again. hehehe... i am still wanting to go for deltec. i am still trust the german technology. actually i am looking at either AP701 (short version of AP801 or AP600) may be AP701 is really overkill for the 2ft cube.

volka dosing on sps tank have side effect after long team of usage. this is my personal experience.

wow... that was a great change. i most most of the mods here too. i was just amazed time really flied. my registered date at SRC was 2004. i started reefing was in late 2003. goodness, am getting older each day. so sorry OT at your thread

in fact, you have grow so much more in the reefing when i scanned through your thread. so much mature and senior now hehehe... my wife has agree for me to go back reefing. but this time, smaller tank 2(L)x2(w)x1.5(h) with fish and LR only. no corals. easy to manage. my daughter like to looks at fishes. if i move to north-east within this year, i will need to look at your place to see how you place your tank. i have some idea of the layout. and please hor, don't decom when i am back lor. we can have coffee anytime and talk about reef and poison each other wow law, time really flies... you guys really go for BK. deltac to more demand anymore? reddragon pump is seem more common now also. i am 2 year lag behind in reefing. really must learn from you guys. i am still as busy as before. will be more busy if i will have my 2nd child this year (am trying hehehe). just wanna catch up... is conrad still the admin here?

hahaha... i will be back. once a reefer and always a reefer now, i kiv for the 1.5ft plan. i am looking for 2(L)x2(W)x1.5(H) instead. something more manageable, simple (will keep it simple - no coral!!!) and easy to maintain. will look into it to integrate into my new home soon. anywa, i KIV for the tank search. have other plan ahead in next 6 mths. so sorry for the problem

even if running outsump, it is not suppose to have the rattling noise.

Hey guys, i still have some LR... so decided to do something on it. decided to start a system with only 1.5ft tank... let me know if you have one to let it go.
