some of my mushrooms are melting... like one by one. i've checked my nitrate around 10ppm (mini labor) and phospates less than 0.03, almost undetectable (salifert)... anyone knows what could be the possible reason? my xenia is not doing well too... frogspawn clam sunnies and other lps still okay

IMHO, i think uv really helps with ich. i tried it with a really slow flow and it seems that the subsequent outbreaks of ich were just on about the same scale as the first outbreak. Without uv, i think the white spots on the fish will increase perhaps also exponentially as they multiply. Of course, the bottomline is the fish's health and good water condition. UV is just there to keep the no. of parasites under control, plenty of garlic in the diet should be a good complement to cure ich.

i using aquamedic t5 tube for my blue tube.. but i realised that after leaving it on for some time the output tends to get noticeably less blue-ish. Anyone with similar experience? issit because of the operating temperature?

need 2 units of either ehiem compact 300, compact 600 or sicce micra. powerheads with similar specs is okay.. but i only looking for those with ceramic shaft.

haha.. i bred discus before also anyway go to aquarealms.com for more discus info the chances of the eggs being eaten up is very high though anyway usually the first few spawns of the fish won't be too successful.. esp if the male is still rather young ie < 1yr old
