  1. Decomming my marine tank, Hence finding a good owner to adopt my 3 fishes, all in good health (kinda obese ). Friendly, and eats pellets. They have been with me for about 2 -3 years already Contact me here or 94363554, preferably collection at sengkang.. Cheers Winson
  2. Thanks Gouldian and angelfishlover Currently got fishes .. recently gave away my regal tang so now left fishes that are not too aggressive. I usually feed the fishes with pellets first then i doze 1/2 to one cube of frozen mysis shrimp enriched with garlic guard. Would want to try the bowl method but think the fishes will "queue" first
  3. Sorry can try youtube But funny can only view in High Quality... :S I believe this algae to be a form of caulerpa algae. I read that there's another one that is like bubbles or grape caulerpa. I bought them at Ah beng's.. They carry different types of algae in their shop. But do take note that they do become asexual, and they will release fumes into the water, causing it to go cloudy right? So i think need a gd skimmer.
  4. Hey guys, Decided to take up the challenge of keeping seahorses. Have been reading quite abit on it.Here's my setup. 2 ft tank, with overhead filter and Red sea prizm skimmer. T5 lighting one white n arctic blue. Currently no chiller. Currently tankmates include 2 clown fishes. mandarin, yellow wrasse, and a chromi. Have lotsa algae plants so that they can graze on if i can't feed them, so far still quite fussy with food.. tried feeding live brine shrimp n frozen mysis shrimps. Seahorses grazing amongst the algae. I have 2 pairs in my tank.. Think they r tiger tails.. not sure of the breed. closeup pic Seahorses caught kissing!!! Another full tank pic
  5. Yes they are definitely still around. Do check the LFS listing/updates for their address. I believe is Pasir Ris farmway 2, Lot 35, They got this huge arowana signage at the gate thats is orange n red. Second lot on the right when you turn right at the T-junction of pasir ris farm.

  10. I have been using my resun for over 2 yrs. No maintainence, no break down so far Its cheap, affordable, works decently, and not very noisy.
  11. Anyone gonna take openwater course in september?
  12. those colored stars are different ones.... they dont provide the same job as a sand-shifting star. I have one in my 2 ft (sand-shifting star) and its constantly moving around the tank bottom, but very slowly. Used to have algae on the sand surface coz not much water movment but the star solved the problem. You can opt for sand dollars and urchins too, they help in maintaining the tank bottom.
  13. The price tag for the setup is really too much. First of all, owning a marine tank is an investment for your time and money. YOu will need to have time to check the state of the tank (especially the early stages), and yes there are alot of diff equipment available for you to choose, according to your budget and whether you intend to Upgrade etc. The best would be to read up on about our fellow reefers' tanks and setup first before you get one yourself. From what the rest have said, it is indeed fun and good way to culture patience hahah!
  14. Here's some update of my tank Trying some SPS but not sure if will succeed. Somehow some of them turning brown.. not enough flow?? full tank view top of my rocks My fav Coco worm, has 2 heads Clove coral from a fellow reefer, has been doing great. On top is a damaged fox coral....hopefully it will regrow.
  15. Hi guys, Yup, i believe its a hit or miss. But i think the white xenia is a more sensitive species than other xenia, hence it's vunerbility. But the risk of putting a foul smelling coral in your tank is quite high, hence i did not dare take the risk. Maybe someone who have experiences with white xenia can give some tips? I won't stop getting another one again though hehe Just in case, i did not start this thread to complain or put down anyone. So no hard feelings
  16. Thanks for the advice. I wanted to keep it but when i removed it, it had that distinctive foul smell and tiny pieces of it will floating everyway around my tank. I had to even change water in case.
  17. Decided to remove it as parts of it were falling apart around my tank Wasted $$$!!! Hmph. Lesson learnt: Don't buy xenias that were not open in the store. Smell the coral and make sure its 'FRESH". I smell it yesterday and it had a slight foul smell but the person said it was ok, so i guess trust your own instincts better. Happy reefing still!
  18. HElp! I just bought this white pumping xenia yesterday but it looks like its dying. It did not open up in the store nor in my tank. Is there anything i can to improve it or should i remove it ? Thanks!
  19. Hi guys, i'm not using a sump, just a Jebo canister. There's nothing inside except for some filter wool that i change bi weekly and Seachem Sea gel as well as Chemi pur2 that i change monthly.I do a weekly 15% water change to keep things in check. My lighting is a Atman MH and Pl set that i bought from aquamarin. It has 1x150Mh and 2 blue Pl 24w lighting. A chiller is a must if you use this lighting. Happy reefing!
  20. Happy CNY to all! Just wanted to update about my tank condition. I removed almost half of my live rocks to create more swimming space for my fishes. 2 months ago, my macro suddenly gave up on me, and i had no money to get a new one, hence i went skimless for a month. Unfortunately, one of my clams and elegance coral died on me. Now i'm using a prizm skimmer, and it works fine for me, almost as good as macro, but with lesser space restrictions . Somehow my tangs seemed to have a thing for my zoos. They love to nip at it and soon my zoos never open and they turned mouldy Yes there are 2 tangs in my tank now, both are feeding well. Other fishes include clown fishes, warsse, cardinal fishs, and yellow tail damsel. Coral stock: 2 clams, 1 coco worm, frog spawns, yumas, mushies, Small SPS, lobo, brains. i believe in keeping a good amount of cleaning crew to help with the breaking down of uneaten food and algae: 2 abalone, 1 blue hermit, assorted snails, sand dollars, shifting star. ^^My fav fish, forever hungry and greedy. The close-ups are taken using my cousin's professional cam(think canon) Really bought out the colours. Hope you guys like them!
  21. you can ask from our sponsers. Usually you have to preorder from them first. If not you can purchase online, it is cheaper.
