  1. Err... could they be parasites - nulibranchs?
  2. Both UV and freshwater dips worked for my ich-infested fishes a few weeks ago. What I did: Freshwater Dip: - Prepare dip using distilled water (at least 1.5L bottle, I usually use 2x1.5L bottles). And prepare another dip with some saltwater from tank. - Buffer distilled water up to 8.2 ph using baking soda. - Make sure distilled water temp is same as tank water temp (or slightly higher under worse case). - Add Methylene Blue (2 drops per litre of distilled water). Methylene Blue can be purchased from any LFS. - Add air-stone for circulation for 15mins. - Net out ich-infested fish and put into dip. Maintain air-stone circulation. - Nudge the fish if it appears sluggish or not moving. This is normal. If it keeps panicking or appears clearly stressed, net it out. - I usually dip for minimum 1 min and maximum 4 mins. - After dipping, dip fish in saltwater dip (to remove methylene blue) for a few seconds before returning it to tank. UV: - I switch on my UV for 24/7 for a week after above dip treatment. After both treatments above, my fishes recovered and feeding well. I know that freshwater dips are NOT for every fish so try it at your own risk. Hope this helps for some of you... Cheers.
  3. I'm also wondering about this... Anyway, I've been using Ice Mountain's Pure Drinking Water for almost a month to top up my tank. So far no visible problem. I was using Life Distilled Water before that for 2 months. I paid $5.50 for 12x1.5L Ice Mountain bottles at Shing Siong.
  4. I have a 2ft FOWLR without chiller. With fan operating only during when PL is on, I can achieve about 2 degrees lower than room temp (eg. room temp 30, with fan tank temp is 28). So I would say fan is a MINIMUM even for FOWLR tank. Downside is the higher evaporation rate...
  5. Thanks chercm. I went there but the unit 97 seems closed permanently and there was no sign board. Where is the PA exactly?
  6. Hi, can someone point out where is AA? Is it Aquaria Art at 97 Geylang Rd? Went there few days ago but can't find it... Thanks!
  7. Goby sold! Thanks all for your interest!
  8. Hi Goby Lovers, I'm selling my Tangaroa Goby as I think it would do better in a substrate tank. I converted my tank to bare bottom about a week ago. Great fish to go with your burrowing shrimps. Details of my fish: Size: Cute size of 1-1.2 inch. Bought: S$15 (Sea Life) about a month ago. Health: Feeding mysis and flakes. Healthy with no broken fin or ich or white spots. Collection: Bedok North area. Please PM me if you're interested. Will let go above S$10. Will try to post a pic tonight. A quick view of what the fish looks like: Tangaroa Goby
  9. Ah Beng's shop just imported some yesterday. Saw that batch. Price is ex but they're LOVELY clowns.
  10. Hi neokn, Do you know the prices for the flames at CF? I called several times but no one answered. Can PM me if you happen to know the price? If not, just ignore this, thanks!
  11. Excellent collection of angels you have neokn! And thanks for the tip too!
  12. Hi everyone, my tank is a 2 ft FOWLR. I have a juvenile emperior (abt 1.5") for about 2 weeks and it is feeding well. I'm thinking of adding a flame angel soon. Heard that juvenile emperors do not get along too well with other angels including pygmy angels. Has anyone kept these 2 fellows successfully? Thanks!
  13. Actually, I have a similar problem with chercm too. My tank is new and has been re-cycling for more than a month. I added a shrimp and blenny about a week ago and this problem started to surface a few days after adding livestock. I hardly feed my shrimp and blenny (small feeding every 2 days) as they seem to be doing well foraging on liverocks. I think my flow rate is adequate (abt 1200L/hr, my tank is only 55L). I have switched off my PL lights in the interim. Does everyone think offing lights help? Thanks!
  14. Thanks primeprime! But your links refer to Red Sea surface skimmer. My questions actually relate to using other standard surface skimmers instead. Thanks anyway
  15. Hi All, I'm wondering whether the standard surface skimmer (those cheap black $10 types) would work with Red Sea Prizm skimmer. I'm thinking of doing this by connecting the surface skimmer to the inlet of Prizm. Reason? Save $ and also I find the standard surface skimmer slightly more superior because it 'floats' actually to water level while the Red Sea surface skimmer does not as it is 'fixed' on inlet pipe (please correct me if I'm wrong). But some issues that I can't answer are: - Would flowrate be affected by this mod? - Would skimming be affected by this mod? Any fellow reefers who have tried this care to share experience? Thanks a bunch!
  16. Can I be 2nd in queue for Starki if someone backs out? Thanks!
  17. How about Jebo 178? Costs about $30+ new but I'm not sure how is its performance and bubble outflow though. Any bro has comments on this skimmer?
  18. Bro, if I'm not wrong, yellow wrasse likes to bury itself in sand so that may be what it did... Try checking out your tank for it when lights are off?
  19. Sand collected. Sorry searching4dan, someone was ahead of you. Cheers.
  20. Collection at Bedok North St 3. PM me your contact no.
  21. Hi Hammy, Do you mean that your canister outlet is running into chiller's inlet? That means you're not using another separate pump to run the chiller? Also, if above is workable, are there any disadvantage of above set up vs getting a separate pump for chiller? I mean would I get slower flowrate because head loss, etc? Just checking because I'm exploring a chiller for my tank which is running a canister set up. I prefer not running another separate pump for chiller actually. Thanks in advance Hammy!
