  1. The place is Sheng Siong supermarket at live seafood section at Old woodlands central(next to the custom). Whole chunk of them. $1.50 per pc.

day 3 n corals remain normal. My setup is 3footer with resun cl450. Under 150w mh, my chiller kicks in at interval of abt 30mins then rest for abt 8mins. The exciting thing is now my chiller kicks in for 1-3min n rest for 8mins. Looking forward to the elec bills.

Safe current... "if". ok thanks i'll check.Could I interpret that my led is 10watt and I am now driving it at 3W. I can increase the max current to is 1A(ideal condition)? This would be fully ultilizing the 10watts led but I think it will shorten the lifespan?

Your casing looks cool n pro with the exhaust fans. I'm also currently experimenting with per pc of 10watt LED for my 3footer with auto dimmer yesterday, 2 blues & 2 whites. http://s587.photobucket.com/albums/ss319/i...090704-1603.flv Total used 4pcs of 10watts LED so equals to 40watts. I am using 150W MH previously. If successful, planning to add another 4 pcs & start 1 SPS sample then. Therefore total would be 80watts. Just to check with u on something since you have so much experience on diying LED. 1) When using 150W MH, I get some water ripples reflection on my floor, but with LED, the water ripples are in rainbow colors. Is this due to presence of many light sources? 2) If the corals open(reacted normally) after the LED lights up, does it mean the corals are responding well to the light? 3) How long it takes to know if your corals won't bleach? 4) I've measured the current & they are 3XXmA & voltage is 9.XV for each LED. So power consume for 1 pc LED is abt 3W? If it is right, that means my 4pcs of LED only consumes 12W? Too gd to be true... If so does it mean I still can drive my LED higher?
  5. Think they open 7days. Call & check if they have LR. Sometimes LR sold out.
  6. There is 20% discount for LR & other LS. Some LS more ex but some other stuffs cheaper. There is one & only auntie who is helpful & friendly.
  7. U can see the item in action at Jireh main tank. As u see the tip has a cresent opening. So water comes out & the head keeps turning & turning. Jireh also got sell.
  8. Not sure if i remember correctly. The sand turns brown due to bacteria activity. As to y it happens can't really remember. My sand was like that in the initial stages but after that it becomes less n less. I think the best sand shifters to get is the sand stars. grey in colour. Really hard working. Won't shift yr rocks.
  9. Using Eden 218 if not wrong abt the model. Need to use finger to rub off the dirt on the rotating head. Not bad I suppose. But after some time, the head movement will be jerky. Can't really clean off the stuffs that sticks to the rotating head. Frequency of rotation becomes inconsistent. My US colleague was recommending me the sea swirl which is more more ex. But he told me would not have this problem.
  10. I'm not an expert here. Just a chatter. I believe u hav a sump becos u said u removed the bioballs & cermaic rings. But why u wan to remove them? Having a DSB or thin I think doesn't make much impact so long u have a gd skimmer & critters that will consume the leftvoers & u do not over feed. Buying sand from LFS can do if u wan to speed up the cycling process. But I think there are some products that contain nitrifying bacteria such as Fritz to speed up the process. Even so it still takes time & patience. Small black crab? I think u can leave it or take it out. Depends on u. Not everyone knows the species of everything. U can post a pic to make help easier. Else u r going to be ignored. It is very hard to keep a PERFECT tank where only the gd stuffs live in yr tank. It is going to be extremely extremely painful marine keeping if u wan to do that. Every coral u buy will have hidden stuffs. This is what makes marine fascinating. Try to trap these parasites but don't stress out too much. Take yr time. Crabs are easy to get. So die also never mind. Yr rocks are uncured & cycling only 4 days. These worms most prob already die in yr rocks just dropped out. Even if they were alive, yr tank only 4 days old. This is expected too. Anyway when yr tank matures, yr worms will just flourish from other new LR u add. Coraline algae turn white. It's normal. Yr tank is only 4 days old. Everything can grow back. Best u can post yr tank equipments like lightings & stuff. U can buy a damsel fish & put into tank to keep u satisfied. Ultimately, during cycling period, yr work is to just find some ###### or other stuffs to distract u from yr tank.

    pump

Is the aquabee 3000 a needle wheel pump? Which LFS got it? Sorry for all the bombardment. Thanks.
  12. Maybe it's baking soda? U need to verify. Maybe u can post in HK website.

Is yr aquabee a needle wheel pump? Where u bought it & how much is it? Want to upgrade my skimmer pump. Thanks.
  14. Ya. I never seen this type of KM additives sizes. In fact they have big bottles for other kinds of additives. The price for 1 bottle of 1 gallon(3.78l) is USD24.99 abt S$40. Price of 16oz=S$17.50. 1 gallon=128oz. 128oz is 8times more than 16oz. Getting 8 bottles of 16oz=S$140. So there is actually a wastage of S$100. I'm not sure if it's due to pple in USA is keeping bigger tanks so rate of additives used is higher than SG. Therefore, their LFS sell big bottles. Or due to fast usage, the additives are used up before their expiry date. Maybe it is risky for LFS to stock up large bottles like these. Maybe we can consolidate the list of pple who want such items & ask a local LFS to help ship over? For pple using Ca reactor, I think they wouldn't have any issue with this.
  15. Went to an US LFS. Bought this Kent marine a part Ca additives. It's 1 gallon per bottle. Does SG got this type of bottling? Thanks.
